I’ll try to keep this short, but it was a frustrating experience. I had an appointment to have a painful, chipped tooth looked at. I emailed photos as requested, and got in a few days later. They took X-rays and the dentist briefly discussed treatment before telling me that he needed to schedule three, two hour long appointments to fix other things he saw on the X-ray. They sent me off for a cleaning where the tech said, “how long has it been since your last cleaning? I just need to know how bad it’s going to be. ” I think her name was Jerry? What a weird, rude way to interact with a patient. Anyway, I thought I was going back to get my tooth fixed after the cleaning (the one I actually came in for), but they led me to the front desk and scheduled my appointment to get the tooth fixed for a month away.
My tooth was pretty painful so I ended up finding another dentist that could get me in sooner, and I cancelled the other appointments. I don’t doubt that my teeth aren’t perfect. I was laid off due to Covid, and I moved twice in two years during the pandemic, so I hadn’t had a cleaning during that time. But, how I was spoken to was humiliating and embarrassing. If you have any anxiety about going to the dentist, this might not be the place for you. Only the cleaning tech was blatantly rude, but I definitely felt I wasn’t being heard by anyone, especially when they didn’t even fix what I went in for. I added a star because the front desk people were lovely.
EDIT: The response from the business is unfortunate. I posted this review anonymously from a secondary account because my parents still live in the area and requested that I kept our last name off of the review. So no, they will not find this name in their patient files. Beyond that, insinuating that I’ve fabricated a story for a negative review is baffling. I detailed what happened at my visit and what was said to me by a specific person. If I wanted to make up a story, I promise that I could do better than what I posted here.

I’ve been going to this dental office for a while now, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. The staff is always professional, kind, and efficient. What I appreciate most is their honesty.
They never try to upsell unnecessary treatments and always explain everything clearly. It’s hard to find a dental office you can truly trust, and I feel lucky to have found this one. Highly recommend!

Amazing office. I’ve been going there for many years. Very caring people. Very sensitive to any special needs that you might have with your teeth.
The hygienist, Jerri, knows that I have certain teeth that are sensitive to her metal tools and she goes out of her way to make sure she doesn’t use them on those, but gets out a different set and also reminds the dentist when he comes in. Great staff. I highly recommend this office.

Dentistry at Portage Lakes is fantastic! The front lobby is welcoming and the care is exceptional. The hygienists are skilled and personable and Dr. Kyle takes his time with patients. I recently needed a new bridge and Dr. Kyle guided me through the process and the new tooth is doing great.
My last one lasted almost 20 years due to the stellar work of his Dad. At my last visit Jerri needed to look at the chart to confirm the tooth was fake, because it looks so real. My kids enjoy going to the dentist-which that says enough right there. Highly recommend Dr. Kyle and his team!
