Dr. Pires is a very nice, educated doctor. Thank you very much. The office ladies and the assistant are also very kind. One of the very few pleasant experiences I’ve had at a dentist office

I can’t express how much I truly appreciate this office and its staff, from the initial consultation with Dr.
Pires to the procedure with Monica everyone there is wonderful! Big shout out to Monica for being so kind in putting me at ease during my deep cleaning and to the front desk staff for working with me to get me scheduled so I wouldn’t have to take off work at my new job!!! Thank you Fairlawn Periodontics, I will recommend you to everyone!!!

Dr. Pires is a terrific Periodontist. He explained the procedure and took his time to answer all my questions. He explains everything. He is not in my dental network, and even though it will cost me more money to have him do my dental work, it is worth it as he is kind, patient and he knows his stuff. He definitely cares about his patients and their comfort. Emily, Shannon and Sarah, are great. They made me feel welcome from the time I walked in the door.
They are very respectful of their patients and that means a lot. The office is very clean and Dr. Pires and his staff made me feel relaxed as he did the work on my tooth. If you need a Periodontist, please go to Dr. Pires. He's the best and you won't regret it.

Not sure where to begin. Let me start off by saying that the only reason why I am even giving this office two stars to begin with is because Dr. Pires himself is a fantastic periodontist. He is knowledgable and makes patients feel very comfortable. The reason why I am even taking the time out of my day to write this is due to my experience with the office staff. When I called to set up my appointment, I specifically asked if they took my insurance. I was doing my due diligence as a patient to be sure that I was seeing a provider covered under my insurance. She said, "Yes, we accept ____ Insurance. " Sounds great. I made my appointment. I showed up and presented my insurance card.
I asked the front office receptionist on my way out what my bill would be. She said they would submit it to my insurance and I would pay the balance. Come to find out after I received my EOB from my insurance company, that they are in fact not covered under my insurance and have never had a contract with them. So then I'm asking myself, well why did she tell me when I called to set it up that they accepted my insurance? I called the office and spoke to that same receptionist who then stated that they always state when asked that, and I quote, "we submit to all insurance and are in-network with Delta Dental and Cigna. " Now, I may have mom brain from time-to-time, but I can promise you that she never stated the later part of that statement. Otherwise, I would have gone elsewhere. I've worked with insurance companies and providers long enough to know that you don't go somewhere that's out of network. Now, should I have called my provider to double check? I wish I would have. Hard lesson learned. However, when someone asks the question to a provider on whether their insurance is accepted and the office knows full well that they aren't covered under that insurance company, don't you think the ethical thing to do would be to let the patient know that when they directly ask? The answer should be "yes. " It shows a lack of integrity on the part of the office.
It also isn't a good representation of the dental and medical community to be deceptive with patients who are just trying to do their best for the dental health. Are there two sides to every story? Sure. Call and ask them. But I may be a lot of things to a lot of people in this world, but I can promise you that being a liar is not one of them. With this longer than necessary review being said, please do your due diligence and ask the questions directly. Follow up before receiving care so that you don't end up with a large bill that could have been prevented. I hope that Dr. Pires can be made aware of this experience because it unfortunately is a poor reflection on his office.
