I'm disappointed to have to leave this review, but it is necessary. I started coming to Dr. Schmidt's office in 2019. I saw Dr. Meister, she was amazing and I still think very highly of her and hope she's doing well. She convinced me to bring my kids there and switch their dentists. The first visits for them were great, no issues. She moved out of state, but I decided to stay with the office anyway based off of my experience with her. Over the years until present, it seems as if Dr. Schmidt has issues with employee retention. On the following visits with my kids, they were seen by a different dentist or practitioner each time. Along the way, things were missed. One one occasion, they only cleaned my daughters' teeth (I'll refer to them as A and B) but never examined them because "no one was available". There was never any follow up about having an exam done. On daughter A's next exam, a cavity was found which was so bad her tooth needed to be extracted.

She cannot have any X-rays due to a serious pre existing condition, which I notified the office and Dr. Schmidt himself about time and time again. They X-rayed her without my consent with that specific information in her chart!! When I brought up the fact that this could have been prevented if she'd actually been examined last time, Dr. Schmidt had the AUDACITY to mumble, "Well, if she'd have had an x-ray last time. . . . " Implying that her not having X-rays is just my crazy "crunchy mom" choice, totally passing blame for his and his office's incompetence. There wasn't anyone there to examine her, how would she have one done even if she could have x-rays??? What I think you meant to say, Dr. Schmidt, was, "Because of your daughter not being examined on her last scheduled visit, your daughter now has a cavity so large it requires extraction. " Have some accountability. Daughter B had treatment from the revolving door of dentists, the entire situation made me nervous from the start, but he assured me my child was in good hands and that they provide everything that a pediatric dentist would. A few months later, an abscess had formed on her gums above one of the treated teeth. At this point, I did not want to go back to Dr. Schmidt's office, but the pediatric dentist told me I had to go back there first to have it treated before my daughter could be seen with them.

I went in and he said that it had to be extracted, so sadly my baby lost her first tooth that day because of the quality of filling she had done by Dr. Schmidt himself. And that was the last time I visited his office. I will never go back. Since, I've taken B to the pediatric dentist mentioned above, who brought me back to show me the "work" on the remaining tooth that Dr. Schmidt treated. He did the filling so unnecessarily large that the inner portion of the tooth was drilled into and exposed, causing major issues. She told me that the same scenario could happen again with this remaining tooth, and a few weeks ago, it did. What a nightmare. My daughter has gone through so much unnecessary suffering because of this, she could have gone septic!!!! Shame on you, Dr. Schmidt. One final note, a dentist office is no place for pets, it's unsanitary and unprofessional.

I recently visited Family cosmetic dentistry for a series of fillings. The majority of the work was done well, but one filling was not adjusted correctly, causing pain when I was eating. I called the office, and they were able to get me in the next day to adjust the bite, which I appreciated. They asked me to wait 3-4 weeks to see if the issue resolved, but unfortunately, the pain persisted. Today, I returned for a follow-up.

The team took an X-ray and reworked the filling, which seems to have resolved the problem, though only time will tell. However, I was surprised and disappointed to be charged $144 for this visit, as I believe the issue should have been resolved correctly the first time. When I expressed my concerns about the charge, the staff explained that the fee was due to seeing the doctor and requiring an X-ray, which insurance may or may not cover. While I understand that policies vary, I believe this situation could have been handled with more flexibility given that the need for a follow-up was due to an initial error. The phone conversation I had with the office staff left me feeling frustrated, as they were not particularly helpful or open to finding a resolution.

Overall, the dental work seems to be of good quality, but the handling of this issue has left me hesitant about returning. I hope that in the future, there will be more understanding and willingness to address patient concerns when something doesn't go as planned.

Made a new patient appointment for the very next day! Everyone was very nice and made me feel like family. I felt very comfortable as if I’ve been going there for years. They offered me a bottle of water which was nice as well. There are six different rooms. The dentist was very interested in my history and gave me her undivided attention. I told my husband to make an appointment here as well.

I think I just found my dentist! COVID INFO: masks are required. They have someone sitting in the front. Your temp is taken and you fill out a COVID questionnaire. You are then taken to the waiting area.
