I recently moved to the area and left a great dentist I had seen for 15 yrs. I had a cleaning and scheduled to have a simple small tooth filling, so I thought. Gave a numbing and one shot then a second which was weird as previous dentist gave one usually. They waited for the numbing to work and started drilling, a little into it I felt a pain shoot up which caused me to jump and a slight tear.
He stopped and seemed annoyed and rather aggressively gave a third shot and only said this might be a pinch! It did hurt because of how hard he was pushing and not really caring. I have never in my entire life had 3 shots for a small tooth not even for a crown. He finished the drilling and put the filling in. The assistant said the numbing should wear off in an hour, this was at 2pm, I couldn't drink without spilling for 4hrs and was still too numb/sore to eat until 8pm.
It's now over 24hours later and my jaw and side of mouth are sore to touch and to open wide aches. Absolute Worst dental experience in my 62 years.

I have been a patient for many years when Dr Strauss had this practice. He knew my "dislike" for dentists and always made me feel welcome even when I did not schedule regular appointments. He was always the first to be there when I was faced with an emergency. As his health failed those who took over his practice carried on his tradition, except for today. I broke a molar in San Salvador and stopped into the new office today to schedule an emergency appointment to get this fixed. I was not being pushy or needed one right that minute, just asked to get in as soon as possible. I was told that I needed to schedule a exam and a cleaning before they could see me since it has been 3 years since my last visit. I explained that was not an issue but could we do all three in one visit because I was in pain and needed to be seen. The tech was not accommodating and continued to repeat herself.
Then she said that even with an appoint for cleaning and exam she could not guarantee that I would get the molar fixed. She stated they would probably set me up on a plan to make that happen but it could not be done at the same time. I explained, almost in tears, a plan would not work that I needed to see Dr. Losey to help me as I was in pain. She told me there was nothing she could do and I told her I would find another dentist as I left the office. Still in pain and looking. . . .
In response to your comment, I explained that I was not expecting to be seen immediately that day, just as soon as possible. Your coordinator failed to offer any type of scheduling for the broken molar. She was only worried about the cleaning and exam. I even asked to speak to someone else and she said there was nothing she could do. I had no other choice but to leave. It was the ONLY option she gave me.

I am so grateful to Dr.Mack, and his staff. He has been our dentist for over 10 years. The amount of skill he has is far beyond any dentist I have ever seen. He takes his time with my children, and is very thorough in answering any questions I have without acting frustrated.

I have been a patient of this office for years. The last couple of times I have gone for tooth problems or cleanings, I have felt dismissed and that my concerns weren't taken seriously. My final straw was when I called to reschedule an appointment that was in 2 weeks and I was poorly treated over the phone. The next morning, I called to speak with office manager who then did not apologize for anything that happened, kept cutting me and kept making excuses for the staff member who treated me poorly.
They asked what time or days work better for me and I let them know, which in response I was told "well those appointments schedule 8 months out". Okay, it is what it is, my time frame is a very common one for people and I was like if I have to wait, I have to wait and the lady on the phone was like "well I guess I can flip through and see what we have". At that point I just canceled my appointment, I wouldn't want to inconvenience someone to do their job. As someone who works with patients day in and day out along with scheduling appointments, etc, the interaction was unprofessional and unacceptable.
I told the office manager that I'll probably just find a new dentist and I was told that if that's I want then that's what it is. No remorse for patients or trying to help them. I'm just taken aback by how this place has changed so much, and not for the better.
