He retired from the Navy Reserve as a Captain after 26 years of service. Before establishing Hampton Oral & Facial Surgery in 2016 (acquiring the practice from Dr. Mrazik), Dr. Trotter practiced for 14 years in the Richmond, Virginia area and has also been a part-time faculty member of VCU's Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and a member of various professional organizations including the American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Dental Association, and Virginia Dental Association.
