Cannot recommend this practice enough. I came in after having a traumatic experience at my previous dentist, but Dr Hanna took great care to make sure I had the best experience possible with him. He took his time giving me two fillings, explaining the entire process to me, asking what music I would like on, and was incredibly patient with me.
I didn't feel a thing, and because of him and his hygienist I no longer have anxiety about getting dental work done.

The dentists are very pleasant people and personable. However, there is a high turn over of office staff and hygienists. The billing is horrendous and they don’t bill timely and correctly. They send bills for dental work dating back over a year or more as they were always in the process of trying to bill insurance. I would get bills for like $5,000 mailed to my home and whenever I would call them they would tell me to ignore it because things were still being processed with insurance. It was always so concerning to me when I would constantly get these huge bills but they kept reassuring me that it was still being processed by insurance. Unlike other practices that are diligent about requesting pre treatment estimates that then come from your insurance company so you know exactly what it’s going to cost- this practice never does that! Instead they bill you months or a year or more after and then claim you owe them all kinds of money. I had an over $1,600 charge for post implant work. When I questioned why I was being billed 100% and it was not covered, the biller said it’s because my insurance does not cover it. That was completely untrue! My insurance confirmed it was definitely a covered service as I had figured. Then Dr.
Hanna gave me another reason why it was not covered and then his wife Dr. Mazer gave me a different reason as to why it was not covered. Also, the bill had so many old service dates on there that I could not really decipher the other charges. They charged me $100 quite a few times when my children and I were sick during COVID and we had to cancel last minute. I think one time they dropped a late charge but then they racked on quite a few even though our family of 4 saw them consistently for 3 years and had to cancel a few times. I agreed to pay the office approximately $2,000 of the approximately $4,000 bill they sent. My husband wrote a very nice letter explaining why the $2,200 check was the accurate amount. We mailed both the check and letter to them by certified mail. They received it but never responded and proceeded to have their attorney threaten us to pay the $4,000 plus or they would sue us. Today, they have officially filed a suit against us. I personally know someone else that had the exact same experience of being overcharged after the fact and many months later.
If you look at other reviews you can see similar complaints. There are excellent dentists in Stamford that you can go to - do not go here! I have never in all my years of moving around the country and going to a multitude of dental practices and having extensive dentistry ever had a problem like this. My dentist and oral surgeon in Stamford and my orthodontist in Greenwich are all wonderful and I have never in my life experienced such lack of professionalism. One more thing to note. Frequently, Dr. Mazer or Hanna will do the cleanings. In a good practice the hygienist always cleans. Not the dentist! It is not good dental practice. Also, they did a root canal on my husband which was unsuccessful- they should have sent him to an endodontist! They want to do everything there for the money when, again, it’s not good dental practice.

I had my first visit after cracking my front tooth and years of dental neglect. The team at Hanna & Mazer made me feel at ease and helped restore my smile. Their prmiary concern is a patients oral health and not upselling you on procedures. I cannot recommend them enough.

At the start, I saw the husband at this dental practice. I was quite nervous, and he made me so uncomfortable by getting mad at me. I almost left the practice then. However, his wife, who is sweet and kind, took over my care. While the dentists are skilled, the costs are unexpectedly high. I have two dental insurances, yet I still received a significant bill. They recommended a specific dental insurance plan, only to later inform me they were out-of-network. I had a tooth fixed, but it broke a year later while still under warranty.
The dentist repaired it in-office but charged me again. When I reviewed the bill with the billing agent over the phone, I received a small claims notice the following week. They were unwilling to apply any discounts. I ultimately left the practice because both my dental insurances are out-of-network there. They overcharge, and the billing agent is not knowledgeable. I would not get involved with this dentist if you do not have the financial means.
