This place is the BEST! If you guys need ANY DENTAL WORK at all, do not go anywhere else but Hartford County Oral Surgery! They made me feel so comforted from the second I walked in, to the moment I left. I have had check ups, dental work and surgery here. I actually enjoy coming in and seeing everyone here because of how nice and professional they are! If you hate the dentist like I do, at least make your time as pleasurable as possible; and I truly believe this is what they aim to do.

Cannot say enough good things.

Probably the worst dental experience I’ve EVER had. Was told id have anesthesia for my surgery - they tried doing it without. They didn’t even know WHICH tooth they were extracting. It was the sketchiest experience of my life. Walked out - will go to a surgeon in Berlin. Never again, Bristol. So completely unprofessional in almost every way. Edit - I want to be fair. My second appointment went much better. They still thought I was there for the wrong thing initially, and I almost walked out again. BUT once the doctor came in I felt MUCH better. I actually really liked him. So I’m bumping this up a few stars. I will continue to update this as honestly as possible as I continue on with my appointments. I liked the Rocky hill location much better so far. Back down a star. Not loving Bristol… my second time at this location. Was there for imaging - they took me over 45 minutes late. I understand that offices get busy.

But that’s a bit much. Especially considering I didn’t even need to see the doctor this time. Had I not just spent over 1k for that visit, I would have told them this was unacceptable and rescheduled. Just to make a point. My biggest complaint though? The chairs. They’re god awful. I ended up waiting in my car - and will continue to do so in the future. The wooden chairs in the waiting room are the worst. My back was in agony after 20 minutes. This may seem like a silly complaint - but these are literally park benches in an office setting. A comfortable, clean waiting room should be the standard in the state of CT these days - I’m spending thousands of dollars for this procedure out of pocket. It’s just not a good look. Being seen at a reasonable time (and in a comfortable waiting room) isn’t much to ask in the year 2024. Will be back to report on the actual surgery. I’ll be honest - I don’t feel great about it. I hope I’m wrong 🤞. 11/11 Had both the extraction and implant done in the same surgery today. It actually went very well. I chose to pay extra for the sedation and don’t regret it one bit (the best $500 I’ve ever spent) - so I can’t comment on what happened when I was asleep - but I woke up with minimal swelling and pain.

All my medications were taken care ahead of time - so all I had to do was pick them up. Which was WONDERFUL and simple. I don’t have one complaint about today! Which is awesome, because this was obviously the most important appointment so far. And I will absolutely be raising the star rating again today because of this. Hopefully the recovery continues to be this smooth and I’ll be back with another update soon! 12/12 Today was my first follow up after extraction/implant screw installation surgery. I was taken promptly - within 15 minutes of checking in. I was concerned at first (the current screw is sticking out slightly past the front of my teeth). But they reassured me that this screw is just temporary. And once the area is completely healed this screw will be replaced with a much smaller one. That way the crown will fit correctly/evenly in my mouth. Happy with the progress so far. Have another appointment next month. Will update if needed. 2/4/25 Still waiting for my crown, hopefully next month. I think I have two appointments left. Everything has healed/is healing well - the last two follow up appointments went great, no complaints. As long as the crown looks good, I’ll be back with one last update and summary of my entire experience here.

Avoid this place at all costs. The atmosphere is dreadful, and the staff is incredibly rude. My wife was trying to postpone her oral surgery because she would be under complete anesthesia. She had taken her seizure medication and was worried about potential complications. Instead of taking a moment to ease her concerns or discuss an alternative, the receptionist dismissed her worries and stated that their policy would make her a non-patient if she canceled. My wife was at that point hung up on her face.

She called again and requested to speak to a supervisor or manager, but the receptionist refused and hung up on her twice. I understand that facilities have policies, but safety should always be the top priority. My wife needed clarification on whether she could proceed with the root canal procedure despite taking her seizure medication or if her medication would expose her to safety risks. They completely lost a patient due to their lack of professionalism, care, and rudeness.
