I was a former long-time patient of a practice that Integrated Aesthetic Dentistry acquired and I came in to see them for a routine tooth cleaning (the appointment was actually with my previous Dr). In addition to the cleaning, they gave me thorough visual evaluation, and x-rays and although I found the cost to be relatively high, but I recognized that this covered more than just a cleaning, so I proceeded with paying. Subsequently, they recommended a second visit for a deeper cleaning, which was performed not by a dentist, but by their dental hygienist. To my astonishment, the invoice for this visit was twice the amount of my initial visit -- and at quadruple what is a reasonable charge. I would not have gone had I been informed that the fee would be $1,100. . .

for a cleaning. I would not have agreed to this treatment as I only discovered this after the hygienist was finished and I was billed. I never experienced this issue my previous dentists, in the 15-20+ years that I was their patient. I never needed to inquire about the charges before service was performed as their charges were always reasonable . Deeply concerned about the billing, I attempted to reach out to their office to discuss the matter numerous times. I left messages via phone calls (three times) and text messages (three times) without receiving any response. Effective communication is crucial in any professional relationship, especially in health care.

The lack of response to my multiple attempts to discuss my concerns about the exorbitant invoice reflects a lack of courtesy and responsiveness that I find disheartening. It also concerns me that should I require emergency service I would be unable to receive it. As a conscientious consumer, I could not justify continuing with a dental service that not only grossly overcharges its patients but also fails to address their concerns in a timely and respectful manner. I believe that fair pricing and open communication are fundamental aspects of any reputable health care practice.

FIVE BIG STARS! Jery at IAD is by far the most thorough and insightful dental hygienist. She definitely knows exactly what she's doing, and informs you as she does it. She's helped me to better my dental habits by instilling great advice. She is my "Healthy Pearly Whites" Guru! Integrated Aesthetic Dentistry office at Gramercy Park is an excellent place to solve your dental problems. The staff is very knowledgeable and kind. The office is very clean and the whole process is perfectly organized. You don't spend much time and things are done fast. It's the best organized medical office I have ever seen.

My crown cracked and Dr Barsoum was able to make a new one while I waited. She has all the equipment of a Lab in her office and can form it after digitally scanning your mouth on a machine. Then after she works on it it is produced in 3D. After she fits it she bakes the ceramic and Voila! You have a new crown! Magic!
