Detailed Introduction

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center Dental Clinic and Pediatric Dentistry is a dental care facility that is part of the broader Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Richmond Hill, New York. The clinic operates as a teaching facility, offering extensive training and residency programs in both general and pediatric dentistry. This hospital-based setting allows for a comprehensive and collaborative approach to patient care, with residents and faculty working together across various medical specialties. The facility’s integration into a Level I Trauma Center provides residents with unique and extensive experience, particularly in managing dental and oral trauma cases. The clinic's services extend to a wide range of general and specialized dental procedures, with a particular emphasis on pediatric dentistry. The pediatric dentistry program is a CODA-accredited training program that offers clinical and didactic training in all areas of the specialty, including restorative dentistry, pediatric endodontics, behavior management techniques (both pharmacological and non-pharmacological), orthodontics, oral surgery, and sedation dentistry. Patients at the clinic benefit from this expertise, receiving care for complex and routine dental needs. The clinic's location within the hospital also provides access to hospital rotations in areas like pediatric medicine, general anesthesia, and the emergency department, ensuring a high level of coordinated care. This model allows the clinic to offer advanced treatments like sedation under general anesthesia, which might not be available in a smaller, private practice setting.

Chou Dr. Wadhwa Franklin did amazing job. These doctors were very neat, fast and they are real professionals in their field. We are very grateful to you! Thank you for your hard work🙏

It’s so sad to say they started as a dental clinic very well on point and knowledgeable about the patients but now it’s a shit show excuse my French front desk staff very nasty rude don’t know what’s going on accept for one short older Spanish lady. when I first went was for an emergency yea you must be there by 7 not 8 because the list will be filled they only take about 12-15 emergency patients if it’s filled you can not be seen I was there till 1pm ok no problem I was a walk in emergency the doctor did an amazing job than when it was time to send it to my insurance for approval I guess the staff never sent it out that was back in October I call they say they will call back nothing. Now I have another emergency because the first one wasn’t followed up on to be covered and till this day now they sending it out 6 months later.

now I’m do for cleaning no appointments till June. Doctors are great front desk sucks irresponsible nasty people

Idk what happened to this place but they should literally close it down. They are completely understaffed. They should stop with the walk ins and focus on their patients with an appointment first. For a health care system they don't know the first thing about prioritizing. I had an appointment for 11:45a when I got there they said the doctor had an emergency at the hospital and would be back at 2p. I wanted over two hours and when he came back he didn't see me until 2:37p! He looked at me for 3 mins and said that I neeed to come back in 3 week.

I explained to him that I had my tooth extracted by them and they left a piece in there that was causing me so much pain. He said that there was nothing that he can do. In two weeks I could develop and infection. He said that he couldn't even take images as all of their machines were broken. So how have they been working on people all day? No worries my dentist gave me all of my images before I went. Still wouldn't help me.

The lady at the front desk was rude and disgusting. She had a patient at her window and kept inserting herself into my treatment plans as her colleague was helping me. I told her that she was violating hippa. The place should be shut down I have no idea how the dept of health allows them to continue short staff with no working X-rays and a staff that doesn't know the first thing about hippa laws and prioritizing. It was a visit from hell

It is very bad management of front desk employees. Their supervisor should pay attention to what they are doing. Almost 4 months later I got an appointment after that insurance approval was done. Every time different person calls me from the front desk and suggests to different doctor's name to put in a referral. I changed it two times after another one called me and said to change it again when I told your coworker already told me this Dr name she said I didn’t know about who told me. When I had appointments I went there and waited 3 hours and she said we needed new referrals.

My question is if they need new referrals why they don’t do it before the appointment to confirm my to go there? 3 hours later they sent me home without seeing a doctor. Very poor customer service. Not organized. Overall in NYC hospitals ranked the worst.
