I want to begin this review by saying that Dr. Burke has always been friendly and very professional with my children. This review is solely about the poor customer service I received from the front desk staff at this office. During my last visit, I specifically requested to speak with Dr. Burke to explain my concerns about ongoing issues with scheduling and communication. However, the front desk staff declined my request, which felt dismissive and disrespectful: The problems started on Nov 5th, when the office canceled my kids’ November appointments and rescheduled both for Dec 11th due to a supposed “car accident” involving Dr. Burke. While I initially understood, the situation quickly unraveled into a series of frustrating experiences that undermined my trust in the office.

• Dec 4: The office called to cancel the Dec 11th appointment AGAIN, citing that the doctor needed the room for a surgery and that they could now see my kids not until January. They also explained a “new policy” that prevented my kids from being seen together because of their age difference. After a long back-and-forth and being placed on hold, they eventually scheduled my youngest for Dec 5th and kept my oldest’s appointment on Dec 11th • Dec 5: When I brought my youngest for his appointment, I wanted to confirm my other son’s appointment for Dec 11. The front desk told me there was no record of it. After explaining the call from the day before, I was initially told the appointment had been canceled and that they could book another appointment for the 12th, but later informed it was still valid after another round of confusion and a conversation with a manager and the front desk person admitting it was a mistake on her part and to forget about the new appointment. • Dec 10: I received two calls—one in the morning to confirm my son’s Dec 11th appointment(the day after), and another in the afternoon asking if we could reschedule for another day ONCE AGAIN! I declined of course, and the staff seemed disappointed by my refusal. • Dec 11: The appointment went smoothly, but the experience left me drained. When scheduling for the next six months, the “new policy” about not scheduling my children together had mysteriously disappeared, and they booked both kids for the same date and time.

This entire ordeal was exhausting, frustrating, and disappointing. Mistakes happen, but what’s most upsetting is the lack of accountability, honesty, or an apology from the staff. I understand if errors occur or the office overbooks, but playing with patients time and trust is unacceptable. For these reasons, we have decided to move to a different dental office. While Dr. Burke’s care was always exemplary, the front desk staff’s handling of these situations left much to be desired.

Great service other than a receptionist said my baby had a surgery scheduled. Wrong information,wrong patient had me worried like is my baby's records screwed up. But the people are amazing. It was just some miscommunication.

I’ve generally received decent service here for my kids, but I was disappointed during my most recent visit. After my daughter’s appointment, the staff said they needed to follow up with a parent. I was present, yet they refused to share the follow-up information with me and chose to call her mom instead.

This kind of bias against dads is frustrating—fathers are just as capable and involved. It’s disheartening to feel overlooked simply because I’m a dad.
