Detailed Introduction

Lorain County Health & Dentistry (LCH&D) is a private, independent, non-profit Community Health Center established in 2002. It holds the designation of a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) "Look Alike" by the Health Resources and Services Administration, signifying its commitment to quality care and serving underserved populations. LCH&D's mission is to provide high-quality primary and preventive healthcare services to all individuals in Lorain County, regardless of their ability to pay. They offer a comprehensive range of services, including primary medical care, dental care, integrated behavioral health services, and pharmacy services. The pharmacy, located at their 801 Middle Avenue, Elyria site, is open to all, with free home delivery of prescriptions available. The organization operates multiple convenient locations across Lorain, Elyria, Oberlin, and North Ridgeville, making healthcare accessible to a wider community. They strive to remove barriers to care and are deeply embedded "of" their communities. A key aspect of LCH&D's approach is its commitment to affordability. They offer a sliding fee discount program for qualifying insured, uninsured, and underinsured patients, based on Federal Poverty Guidelines and household income. They also accept Medicaid, Medicare, and most commercial insurance plans. Beyond direct medical and dental services, LCH&D provides additional support such as assistance with Medicaid/Medicare and Marketplace Exchange insurance applications, on-site lab/blood draw services (at no cost for eligible patients), referrals to specialists, translation/interpretation services for non-English speaking and deaf/hearing impaired patients, and transportation support. LCH&D is governed by a stable board of directors, with over 51% of directors being consumers of their services. This ensures that patient needs and community well-being remain central to their operations. In 2023, LCH&D served 18,575 unduplicated patients across 63,22 visits, with a significant majority (92%) having household incomes at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty level, highlighting their impact on vulnerable populations. Their ongoing efforts include developing "Advocates" to promote their work and ensure their continued presence in the community for years to come.

Dr. Beth and the dental hygienist Debbie were phenomenal! They provided such nice care and it shows on my teeth. They had such great customer service and created such a friendly environment while providing quality care. Would recommend to anyone that needs to see a dentist.

Update recived a call from here to them telling me he was recommend to a pedicatric dentist in there paper work i wasnt told and in paper work it says it slows the cavities doesnt stop them so read your paper work guys dont tae their word take time and read it for yourself. Still just suggest you take kids to a pediatric dentist so you don't have to deal with this now if u have to come here make sure I stress make sure you read your paper work thank you. This one star is just fo4 my son I do not recommend this place for kids I happen to just take my son to a pediatric dentist today and they said my son's cavities were so bad and here all they did was a fluoride treatment which I was told keeps it from decaying further from what I was told today it only slows it so the treatment I trusted them with now has my 8 year old son getting teeth pulled do not take your kids take time to take them to a pediatric professional.

Now staff is super friendly just don't like how I had full length conversations with these ppl just to find this out. Now for my adult experience I have had no issues been great with the one dentist that was there will miss her I can't speak on the new one havnt seen them yet but all and all as a adult good experience. Other than some scheduling issues here and there but good staff I move to 4 stars to reflex my own experience not happy about my son this is why he will no longer go here.
