Dr. Walter J. Machowski Jr., DMD, is a well-established general dentist based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine in 1982, after completing his undergraduate studies at Wofford College in 1977. Since 1982, he has been practicing general dentistry in Myrtle Beach, often alongside his wife, Dr. Sarah Godbold-Machowski, DMD. Their practice is known as Grand Strand Family & Esthetic Dentistry. Dr. Machowski Jr. has a strong commitment to dental education and community service. Before his election to the State Board of Dentistry, he taught senior dental students from MUSC, guiding them in performing restorative procedures for indigent patients at Horry Georgetown Technical College. He is an active member of several prestigious professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association (SCDA), the Pierre Fouchard Society, the Southern Conference of Dean and Dental Examiners, and the American Association of Dental Boards. He has also served as the South Carolina representative for ADEX, the national organization that formulates dental exams for hygienist licensure, and currently works as an examiner for CITA, which administers licensure exams in South Carolina and nationally. The clinic, Grand Strand Family & Esthetic Dentistry, provides a wide range of dental services. These include, but are not limited to, restorative procedures, implant restorations (since 1988), digital radiology (for the past 15 years), and CEREC crown and bridge technology (for the past 10 years). They also offer services such as teeth bonding, braces and retainers, bridges and dentures, Invisalign, teeth cleaning, tooth crowns & caps, fillings, nitrous sedation, root canals, tooth extractions, veneers, teeth whitening, and wisdom teeth removal. Both Dr. Walter and Dr. Sarah Machowski are dedicated to serving the Myrtle Beach community, having volunteered with organizations like SOS, Give Kids A Smile, Christina's Smile, Dental Access Days (DAD), and Donated Dental Services to provide emergency and essential dental care.
