I thought this was THE place for my guy after putting in months of work to ease his anxiety with the dental team to get him comfortable in the chair for check ups and cleanings. *Please note I always went back with my son* It all honestly seemed fine until my mom called after my son had a dental procedure to ask for an additional round of nausea medicine since my little (who is autistic) was struggling with taking anything in and keeping it down. I was at home caring for him one on one and unable to do the call myself at the time. This was also a Friday at this point and we were trying to be proactive for the weekend. . we just needed medicine for literally one more day which would have been two tablets. I wasn't aware I missed putting her on the list of approved individuals they can speak to and Emily decided that she was going to speak down to her for trying to help and then myself when I attempted to call to get the mistake fixed as quickly as I could. That phone call was a waste of my time. Emily raised her voice at me when I was speaking to her in a calm manner trying to add my mother to the list and inquire on if there was anyway at all to get a single day of a refill. Emily never allowed me to speak long enough to square anything away on the HIPPA issue and they never helped with the med refill (but our pediatrician did with zero issue. . . because she listens and knows how to properly assist an autistic child). Dr. Callen shared she "never" calls in more than what she gave and if they need more it's a medical issue.
I even tried to express this concern ahead of time and got the "he'll be fine" attitude in response. After all of this the office decided we could no longer schedule appointments and blacklisted us without warning. Stating randomly that "I needed to talk to Dr. Callen directly before being allowed to schedule anything and until then I am not to be scheduled". Emily was just as nasty delivering this information as she was a year ago when we were trying to get proper follow up care. Anyway, I found this out months later when attempting to schedule the next check up visit after absolutely no contact from the office reagrding any "issue" needing any kind of one on one contact for follow up and my email being ignored. 6 hours later after the inquiry to schedule said appointment I get a call and Emily's tone has magically changed and she's entirely fake in the voicemail as if all is fine and she didn't just treat me exactly like she had forever ago. . you're not going to treat me like that when I'm paying for these services and literally just asking for assistance to schedule. It's wild. I can't believe that this behavior is acceptable at this office. I'd be fired instantly if I treated any of my parents/clients that way, especially more than once? Dr. Callen is aware of how Emily talks to people, by the way. I brought it up after the first incident but now I realize none of it is being taken into consideration so I'll bring it to Google and if you're looking for care you can take this review into consideration. This is almost an entire year later and still an issue.
Parents shouldn't have to deal with having fear of how staff will treat them when trying to schedule and complete appointments/needs for their children. There are no excuses for this kind of attitude toward your clients and families. I hope you actually train your staff on Autism (Kerry Magro would be a great place to start feel free to look him up), and empathy as a whole so they can better learn how to talk to parents/grandparents who are just genuinely worried about their children/grandchildren and want to help them. I'm sure the children would appreciate it just as much considering they also have feelings. . . but what do I know. I put so much trust in you Dr. Callen, and so did my child. Advocate better for your families with your staff. I will never recommend this place again & PLEASE for the sake of everyone else do better Emily 👍🏻 --- Whatever response that's left to this is to save face. Don't read it, just as I don't plan to.

Dr. Callen, the staff, and the office are all fantastic; and would highly recommend this practice. My 2 year old daughter was not an easy patient, and still was happy with her first visit to the dentist. The comfortable environment, and kind and attentive staff are winners for any parent and child.

Fantastic experience with the entire staff. We recently visited for the first time and were received very joyfully. Marie is an amazing individual and fantastic at what she does. These offices are also beautiful and colorful (who knew that a dentist office could feel as happy as a candy store).
So happy to have this be the place our kids will have their teeth taken care of for years to come. Wishing I could get a bag with toys too. :)
