Detailed Introduction

Metro Implant & Surgery Center, located at 3601 N Belt W, Belleville, IL 62226, is a dedicated Oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic. While the provided information does not include a direct website, online searches indicate its specialization in Dental implants and related surgical procedures. The center is designed to provide comprehensive care for patients requiring various oral surgeries. Their core services revolve around dental implant therapy, which includes single tooth replacements, implant bridges for multiple missing teeth, implant-retained partial dentures, and full implant-retained dentures. These services aim to restore both the aesthetics and functionality of a patient's smile, addressing issues like missing teeth, bone loss, and ill-fitting traditional dentures. Beyond implants, Metro Implant & Surgery Center likely offers a broader scope of oral and maxillofacial surgeries. This typically includes procedures such as tooth extractions (including Wisdom teeth removal), Bone grafting (essential for providing a stable foundation for implants), sinus augmentations, and preparation of alveolar ridges. Many Oral surgery centers also handle the diagnosis and treatment of oral pathology, facial pain, facial injuries, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Patient comfort is a key focus, and they offer various sedation options, including nitrous oxide ("laughing gas"), conscious sedation, and potentially general anesthesia in partnership with anesthesiologists, to ensure a relaxed and pain-free experience. The center emphasizes personalized care, with initial consultations focused on understanding individual needs, concerns, and developing tailored treatment plans, often utilizing advanced imaging like CT scans. The "Surgery Center" in their name strongly suggests a facility equipped for surgical procedures, rather than a general dental office, indicating a focus on specialized surgical interventions.

This is an in network prefered provider for my insurance company. After being overcharged for my initial consultation, I verified with my insurance company what my responsibility would be for my procedure. The office said it would be in excess of $700 upfront, with insurance. After speaking to the insurance company they verified the office was not using the fee schedule provided to them for in network services to the member nor were they honoring my in network coverage. After having previously spoken to Erin about some needed assistance with care, she stated if I had any issues to contact her. The morning prior to my procedure I attempted to contact Erin who could not be bothered to assist me after insisting she was there to help. In addition she chose to use that fact that I had mentioned to her that I had prior anxiety about general dentistry, when my first cleaning was rushed and the original dentist was very dismissive, against me and blame me for their ineptitude, claiming I was just anxious about the procedure.

Not about the price gouging and overcharging by hundreds of dollars. After an enormous ordeal where I was completely disrespected by Erin and Aubrey, supposed office admin, they made some feeble attempt at honoring the rates they agreed to as in network providers. I was literally insuled by them and blamed for their incompetence. They are still not correct and they not only refused to apply my in network coverage but refused to honor the overpayment I had made for the consultation, with the paid explanation from my insurance company as they had already processed the consultation. This is why people don't seek dental care or carry insurance. This is a prime example of staff ruining a practice. Dr.

Whitworth is a fantastic surgeon. He and his dental assistant are the only ones in that office that care about or are there to help people. I hope he will venture out on his own and not allow them to ruin his reputation. Unless you want to open a savings account with Erin and Aubrey attain care elsewhere.

After researching with our dental insurance, the office presented an estimate of $1,413. 50 for out of pocket expenses to have a procedure completed. The dental work was completed in April at which time the outstanding balance due was paid in full. Over two months later the office sent another bill for $293. 00. The explanation was the dental insurance did not actually cover part of the procedure so the patient is responsible.

This 20% increase in out of pocket expense came as a total surprise since confidence had been placed in the office's experience working with dental insurance coverage. Obviously confidence was shattered and credibility is questioned. After discussion, the additional $293. 00 is being paid. Time to move on in more ways than one.
