I went to North Dayton Family Dental to get a crown, and unfortunately, my experience with Dr. M Sanjeevan, DDS was very disappointing. After the initial visit, I had a temporary crown placed. Everything seemed okay until the numbing wore off and I was finally able to eat — that's when I realized the entire filling that had been removed from my tooth was still in my mouth. When I went back for the permanent crown and explained what had happened, I was shocked by the dismissive response I received.

Dr. Sanjeevan told me I "should have spit it out," completely ignoring the fact that my mouth was numb at the time. I tried to explain that it wasn’t just a small piece — it was the entire filling — and that I physically couldn’t feel it enough to react properly. Instead of listening or showing understanding, he just repeated that he didn’t understand why I didn’t spit it out. I left feeling frustrated and unheard.

Dental procedures can be uncomfortable enough without having your valid concerns brushed off like they don’t matter. I expected more professionalism and empathy from a provider. I truly hope North Dayton Family Dental takes this feedback seriously and improves their communication and patient care. This experience has left me very hesitant to return.

Me and my adult children are new patients and the experience was great! Staff was very helpful from scheduling the appointment on the phone with Ms. Penny through the care of both the assistant and doctor during the X-rays and exams. It appears that we have found our new family dentistry.
