I have had extensive dental work done in my adult life. This was by far, the worst experience I've ever had with an organization or a dentist. A nightmare. I had them do 4 fillings and order two dental appliances. The fillings are fine. On my first visit, 10/08/25, I advised them that I wanted a new upper denture and a bridge for the back bottom tooth that I had pulled a year ago. The assistant told me that the new denture probably wouldn't be covered by my insurance company because it was less than 3 years old. I told her, "It's fine. I will pay cash for whatever is needed and work it out with the carrier. Please Rush!" The assistant told me that they could not rush anything with my carrier because pre-authorization was required and that took six or more weeks. That didn't sound right. I have been with the same carrier since 1/1/11. I have never waited more than a couple of days to get scheduled for procedure after an exam. Instead of the bridge, they talked me into getting a lower partial. When I got home from that visit, I called my insurance carrier. They said that the upper denture would not be covered until early March '25. It was indeed less than 3 years old. I advised my carrier that I would appreciate them talking to the dentist and see if I could get an in-network discount. Despite the fact that my carrier had approved the covered expenses 21 calendar days after my first visit, and I told that to the young lady at the front desk, 'Lexi', she said they still had not received authorization. On my next visit to the office, to figure out what was going on, I asked to talk to Lexi. I inquired about the authorization to get started on the two appliances.
She told me, and I quote, "I have over 1,000 claims on my desk. I don't know if your authorization is in there or not. I asked her to please call them and she refused. "I will call you when I get it. " Very rude and of course, a lie. She never called me. Finally, I called her and asked her if she had found the authorization yet. She said "Yes", and I got scheduled to be measured for my appliances. The partial arrived before the denture. It snapped in but was very painful. Dr Hagerty came in. He stated that it will take about three adjustments to make the partial fit correctly. His exact statement was, "I want you to wear it for a few days and let us know when you come back where it is hurting your gums. If it's too painful to wear, I promise you, if you call on Friday and let us know, we will work you in on Monday. I never even got to eat with that partial at this point. When I got home, I called Lexi and told her what Hagerty said. I asked to be worked in right away. She stated that she only had an opening "Sometime next week". Unreal! After 3 adjustment appointments, it felt comfortable. I went to my sister's house for homemade chili. Halfway through a bowl, 1.
5 hours after I left North Park Dental, the partial bent straight out and poked into my cheek. Again, I called Lexi for an immediate appointment. I do not recall if she got me in the next day or not. Next visit, another dentist said that it needed to go back to the lab but, he wanted Dr Hagerty to inspect it first. Meanwhile, my denture finally arrived. Unbeknownst to me, they put the partial in a denture carrier and handed it to me. I assumed it was the 3D printed model of my upper denture that I had been wearing sometimes. I was told that it would work fine until my actual denture came in. It was all one color, off-white including the gum part. Eating a casserole, it broke in half. Within 48 Hours of getting my denture, after 3 pizza slices, it broke from the front tooth to about halfway back. There were many other issues. I am running near max characters for a review. If you like cheap materials and big delays, by all means, visit North Park Dental. Not for me! They exaggerate, lie, defend & deflect. That is their M. O. .

Dr. Ryan and his staff are great! They are very welcoming and make you feel at ease during your visit. They're organized so your scheduled appointment is timely and very knowledgeable when it comes to your insurance coverage and make you aware of any costs that you may be responsible for before the procedure. Highly recommend!!

Update 05/02/2025: Today we were informed that the $100 bill was waived for the reasons explained below. Today (05/01/2025), I went to my appointment with my husband. My cleaning went well. The doctors and dental hygienists always do a great job. However, my husband was unsure about getting his cleaning. The day before, during the confirmation call, he asked the receptionist if he could decide on the day of the appointment.
She assured him that there wouldn’t be a problem with that. When we arrived today, he decided not to go through with the service, but the receptionist informed him that he would have to pay a $100 fee to cancel the appointment under 24 hours. The issue is that this detail was not mentioned during the call yesterday. If it had been, I’m sure my husband would have made his decision then. The receptionist said that this fee/condition is written on a paper that we signed a year ago, but honestly, how are we supposed to remember something we signed a YEAR AGO? We don't even have a copy of this paper. Wouldn't it make more sense for the receptionist to remind us of the fee for canceling an appointment in the confirmation call? Isn't it her job to coordinate and communicate CLEARLY with the customer? There were other details that she also forgot to coordinate with us and that we should have known before the appointment.
Like we should have been there 15 minutes before the appointment; I also needed x-rays, not only cleaning, and finally, the fee for canceling an appointment under 24 hours. COMPLETE MISCOMMUNICATION. I'm not sure if the receptionist is new or if she lacks training, but this resulted in a $100 bill. It isn't fair that we have to pay for the bad work of an employee.
