The practice is committed to creating a "dental home" for children and their families, guiding them through the exploration and education of their oral health and development. Their mission is to build a lifetime of positive attitudes towards dentistry in children by focusing on prevention and delivering safe, state-of-the-art treatment. The clinic's team, including dentists like Dr. Sara Silvestri and Dr. Kevin McCoy, along with a dedicated staff of patient care coordinators and dental assistants, strives to provide personalized, one-on-one service. They aim to make dental visits easy, entertaining, and educational, understanding that every child is different and some may have high anxiety in a dental office. The office is designed to be comfortable and friendly, with amenities like a kids' activity zone to put children at ease. North Star Pediatric Dentistry offers a comprehensive range of pediatric dental services. This includes early appointments to educate parents on caring for their child's teeth, regular cleanings and cavity checks, fluoride treatments, and sealants to prevent tooth decay. They also provide personalized dental plans as children grow, addressing needs related to speech and eating, and emphasizing the importance of caring for primary (baby) teeth. While specific advanced services like crowns, dental implants, or orthodontics are not explicitly listed on their primary website, other search results suggest common pediatric dental treatments such as X-rays, tooth-colored fillings, and potentially emergency dentistry are offered. The clinic's philosophy emphasizes patient education and tailored treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes and a pleasant dental experience. Patient reviews consistently highlight the team's professionalism, friendliness, and dedication to making children feel comfortable and cared for.

We started going to Dr. Sara when our son was about 4 years old. Our son is autistic and oral resistant. We struggled at other dentists and Dr. Sara was great with our son and very patient with him and after many happy visits and regular visits he started working his way up to letting them do actual work on his teeth such as cleanings. Then at the age of 7 Covid hit and everything shut down. Our insurance changed and finally after over a year and a half we were able to come back to Dr. Sara.

The very first visit back we quickly realized he had regressed so much so that he wouldn’t open up his mouth. She became very impatient with him, and cold and somewhat cross to us about his diet. He only ate 3 things then and drank only Gatorade and milk. Apparently that was wrong in her mind since his teeth were in need of cleaning pretty badly due to the length of time it had been since he last cleaning due to his resistance. She got him to open a little and do some work, but then next visit he definitely sensed her distain towards him and he was resisting. She made passive aggressive comments again about his diet, which we couldn’t help being that he was such a resistant eater to begin with. And she knew that and was very understanding before. She stopped and basically said he needs to be referred to be put under anesthesia.

She gave up on him and didn’t even want to try anymore. At that point we decided not to return. When we first went to her we expressed how we never wanted to put him under anesthesia just for cleanings and she agreed then, but I guess changed her mind after Covid. She clearly became less patient with kids like my son and should probably go work with adults instead. We are now with Stellar which I highly recommend! They have worked with him for over two years now and he’s doing amazing with them! Letting them do full cleanings and everything!!! So happy we found a good dentist who is patient with him. Go to Stellar!

My kiddo has SPD and difficulty with oral health over the years. He has gone through tremendous improvement with the welcoming and non-shaming support from Dr. Sara and team. He’s especially eager to see McKenna and Natasha who have made so much intentional effort with him. We never wanna leave!

Been coming to see Dr. Sara since my kids were toddlers. So it’s been a good eight or nine years now. We’ve gone to other places for a different procedures, and I can’t even stress enough how much I prefer Dr. Sara and her team.

They are unparalleled with their customer service and catering to each child and our family needs. My kids are so excited to go to the dentist. Even when we have to do fillings and procedures, the kids do sooo well, they are so good with my kids. They treat you like family, and that’s a goooood feeling. I trust my kids with them 100%!

We contacted the office about a week after my baby was born for a consult for a lip and tongue tie. We went in and Dr Sara and her assistant examined his lip and tongue and thoroughly went over her thoughts on releasing them, after care and how releasing them will help his latch and feeding! We decided to go ahead with the procedure which took maybe 5 minutes.

They brought my boy back and let me feed him for about 15 minutes before coming back to check and see how things felt! He was back to normal right after the procedure was done and was eating so much better. Dr Sara reached out about a week after to see how he was doing and to make sure things were going ok! We love her and the office and highly recommend them!!
