I'm not happy with my experience from yesterday at Optima Dental. I went to see them because two tiny fillings popped out and they needed to be replaced. It's a long story, but essentially, a dentist didn't work on my mouth. As a matter of fact, she didn't even thoroughly examine my teeth. She had me point to where the fillings fell out, she glanced at me teeth, and told the woman to fill them. I hadn't been at the dentist for over a year, so an exam was in order, and I'm certain they charged my insurance for one.

They had the tech do my fillings. I'll admit the woman meant well, but instead of just replacing the fillings, she slathered the stuff all over the entirety of my teeth to try to make them look whiter. She didn't ask if this was what I wanted, she just did it. Once I got out to my car and put my glasses on, I could see that she had turned 4 teeth into 1. It looked awful. I went back in and asked to see the actual dentist.

She had to rip all the filling off the front of my teeth, file it down, and put spaces between my teeth. Before that, I wouldn't have been able to get floss between my teeth, and it now makes sense why she kept insisting I buy a water pick. I'm pretty angry because not only did I not have a dentist work on me, but this woman did crazy things to my teeth without discussing with me, it took a ridiculous amount of time, and I had to go through the stress of having it all ripped off again. It was a terrible and extremely unprofessional experience, and in the future, I will insist to be treated by a dentist.

Was looking for a new dentist office, mine stopped taking my insurance. Office staff is nice, easy to make an appointment. We waited 40 minutes while others who came after us were seen. The procedure area is not clean, the chin rest had residue from someone else’s makeup on it.

Had to come back and ask multiple times for the proper referral and paperwork for a separate referral for oral surgery. Wouldn’t really recommend.

I Haven’t gone to the dentist in years because of this place. I went here when I was 18 and naive and I wish I would have spoken up for myself more. They let the trainee work on my teeth and I ended up with crowns that were more yellow then my actual teeth. Which was actually pointed out by one of their colleagues who was doing a cleaning after the fact. She also pointed out that my crowns (which were my two front teeth) were different sizes.

After she pointed it out I couldn’t unsee it. They then blamed me and said I picked the color when I clearly said from the beginning I planned on getting my teeth whitened and I wanted my crowns to be able to match the rest of my teeth properly. Fun fact about crowns, they can not be stained or whitened and can not be replaced unless your willing to pay $4000 out of pocket per tooth. Also while getting a root canal they did not numb me all the way. I felt everything and I told the women who was drilling out my teeth to stop but she ignored me and kept going.

I actually had to push her hand away and out of my mouth to demand more numbing solution because the pain was so unbearable. It was because she numbed the wrong spot and not the teeth she was working on. Really horrible and traumatizing experience do not go here.

I hope to update this review and hopefully give more stars but as of now I cannot. My initial visit with a dentist that is no longer there was horrible the filling he did was bad and now I’m going to loose the tooth. Also the extraction he did he was having a difficult time with. He said it was complete and a few months later I noticed a piece of the tooth that was supposed to be gone coming through my gums.

When I went back and they did an x-ray, the whole tooth is still in there he just took off the bottom part under the gum. Now I don’t know what to do hopefully my next visit I can get some answers and update this review to be better.
