I don’t generally leave reviews but I had an awful experience at this place. I was scheduled to get my wisdom teeth removed but was never offered a consultation visit to discuss my insurance or the surgery. I was never contacted in the 2 month span I had to wait about my insurance, if they even received my dental records, or the steps you have to take the night before your procedure.

I had to call them to even find out they were doing the actual procedure the day of my appointment. When I went in there for my appointment the staff was rude, and then tried to charge me $125 for a consultation fee that I wasn’t even scheduled for. After that, I was told they could do the procedure but didn’t know if my insurance would cover and they were “too busy” to call my insurance, which is what a consultation is for.

I’m hoping I’m just one of the few that have had a bad experience there and they don’t treat all their patients like they did with me, but just from my experience alone I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

Definitely DO NOT recommend Dr. Larry Schmitt’s office in Chillicothe. I was scheduled back in October to have my wisdom teeth removed today. I was told it would be a consult and surgery all in the same day and given a down payment to bring the day of surgery. I found that it was weird that I never received instructions prior to surgery or even a text reminder.

I called their office this morning and they said they had no record of me and were not very friendly and did not even take my information. My husband and mother in law took off work so that I could have this procedure today. I called Chillicothe family dental and verified that is where my records/xrays were sent. All I can say is I guess I should’ve read the reviews because it sounds like this is not the first time it has happened.

All staff there was very nice and welcoming, they calmed my nerves, if I would’ve been nervous. They were very informative both the nurses who gave me my consultation, and the Doctor himself.

Going into the surgery room, I did get a little nervous but all three of the nurses and the doctor were very good and calming me and distracting me as well. If you are thinking of getting any oral surgery, I would highly recommend and if I need anything done I will be coming back, for sure!

My experience with Dr. Schmitt and his staff was excellent. I had an emergency and they got me in right away, were kind and caring, and even followed up the next day to see how I was doing. I’ve already recommended them to others and will be contacting them about my son’s wisdom teeth soon.
