Detailed Introduction

The OSU Student Dental Clinics are an integral part of The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, located in Postle Hall at 305 W 12th Ave, Columbus, OH 43210. These clinics serve a dual purpose: providing comprehensive, high-quality dental care to the public while offering essential hands-on training for dental and dental hygiene students pursuing their DDS degrees. Under the direct and continuous supervision of highly skilled, licensed faculty dentists, students perform a wide array of dental procedures. This rigorous oversight ensures that patients receive safe and effective treatment while students gain invaluable clinical experience. Services offered include, but are not limited to, basic teeth whitening, bonding, cleanings, crowns, dental implants restoration, dentures, emergency care, extractions, fillings, gum disease treatment, partials, and veneers. A significant benefit of the OSU Student Dental Clinics is their affordability. Fees for services are typically 40% to 50% less than the average cost in the Columbus area, making quality dental care more accessible to a broader population. Medicaid-eligible patients often pay even lower fees. The clinics accept various insurance plans, including Delta Dental, Medicaid, CareSource, Molina, and United Healthcare Community Plan, in addition to self-pay options. While appointments may take longer than in a private practice due to the educational nature of the clinic and the multi-layered supervision, patients often find the cost savings and quality of care to be highly beneficial. The clinics are open to the general public, ages 5 and up. They are an essential part of The Ohio State University's commitment to community service and the advancement of dental education, fostering a learning environment that produces exceptionally capable and compassionate dental professionals. Patients consistently report positive experiences, highlighting the affordability, quality of work, and the friendly demeanor of the student providers and supervising faculty.

Dr. Peregrina and his student (Emma Tran) did a great job in making complete set of dentures for my friend (I took him to and from clinic and interpreted for him). He is totally happy with his new dentures. Highly recommend Emma & Dr. Peregrina.

Had the most difficult time with Jen at the front desk. She was on a power trip and extremely rude.

I came here to help out my roommate who is a dental hygiene student. While I did have to come back three times for about two hours each, it was a good experience. The students are taught as they go by their clinic instructors, and I even learned some stuff too! The desk staff are all very kind and helpful and it is pretty inexpensive.

A lot of dental insurances are taken and although mine wasn't, it didn't break the bank. If you either know someone in the dental school, or just want to help out a student, I highly recommend!
