The clinic was founded by Dr. R. Steven Powell, a native of Augusta, who has been practicing orthodontics for over 35 years. He is a cum laude graduate of Augusta State University and graduated first in his class from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. After a period of service in the United States Navy Dental Corps, he completed a rigorous two-year orthodontic residency at the Medical College of Georgia. He is also a part-time instructor at the Augusta University orthodontic residency program. Dr. R. Steven Powell is now joined by his son, Dr. Robby Powell, creating a dedicated father-son team of orthodontic specialists. Dr. Robby Powell holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia, a Master of Business Administration from Augusta University, and a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Dental College of Georgia. He completed his orthodontics certificate at the Georgia School of Orthodontics. The team prides itself on a patient-centered approach, offering personalized treatment plans and utilizing the latest technologies, such as iTero® Element™ intraoral digital scans.
