I got my braces done by dr. Pritchett in 2015. I had them for about 5 years. Recently my permanent retainer broke off so I came to get it glued back in. I arrived on time for my appointment and waited an hour to be seen. I had a lady that I won’t name reapply my retainer. I noticed it was different than before and she told me she had made some adjustments to correct my teeth that had moved. I hadn’t had any movement since my retainer was only off a few days.
She assures me it will make my teeth straight and if not they can fix it??it seemed as if she was in a hurry telling her coworkers she didn’t feel well and that I was going to be her last person for the day. It was also right before lunch break. Given I arrived on time to my appointment. I never once saw dr. Pritchett. A week later and my bottom teeth are no longer straight. I had them make me a retainer for my top teeth. I told the lady it is so painful and difficult to take in and out and again she assured me it was fine.
The retainer is $300 and I’m unable to wear it. I called for a follow up appointment and they only could get me in an hour before they closed and told me I needed to be on time even though I have never been late to an appointment. I’m hoping they are able to correct my teeth without having me pay more since my teeth were straight before the lady tried to move them. UPDATE 3/24/2025. After returning for my follow up appointment I was informed they would not fix what I had already paid for and dismissed me to go to a new orthodontist. Save your money and TIME. Find an ortho that doesn’t let emotions and lunch breaks interfere with the quality of your teeth.

I have gone to Pritchett Orthodontics for about 10 years now, and, overall, I have had a terrible experience. I only went because it was the ortho that my parents made me go to. Every visit, the hygienist would spend most of the time gossiping with other hygienists or with the doctor. They didn't care about any pain I experienced. When I finally got my braces out, I was having a lot of pain due to sensitive teeth.
Instead of slowing down or giving me breaks, they kept at it, causing me to gag multiple times. Before I even left the room Dr. John Pritchett made a sarcastic comment about how "fun" the gag reflex was, as if I was doing it on purpose. I've had to get my top permanent retainer fixed about once a year. This last time I needed to get in, I told them of my legal name change, and they refused to change it on my records because "they use paper records," as if white-out doesn't exist.
I went to get it fixed at my dentist, and they ended up having to replace it because of how bad a job this ortho did on my retainer the first time around. I honestly don't know how they have 4. 4 stars considering I have NEVER had a good experience here, and either has my brother or sister. I'd leave 0 stars if I could, but 1 star will do to get my review heard.

My experience with Dr. Pritchett was a complete nightmare. He is uninvolved in patient care and doesn’t even conduct a complimentary consultation —his long-term assistant does it instead and charges for it. Shockingly, he failed to perform a proper oral exam before applying braces and didn’t inspect or ensure they were applied correctly. He created a treatment plan and had his assistants apply braces without ever physically assessing my child's teeth and mouth.
When questioned, he couldn’t explain his lack of involvement. Parents weren't asked back during appointments, creating a lack of transparency that hides the poor quality of care. Unless you specifically ask for him, Dr. Pritchett is nowhere to be found, leaving most of the care to his staff, who are clearly without proper guidance or oversight. However, his office staff is exceptional, kind and friendly.
Dr. Pritchett comes across as dismissive and far more focused on running a business than providing quality orthodontic care. If you value professionalism, transparency, and thorough treatment, choose another practice.

I just recently got my braces off from Pritchett. Heather is who I would always have working on my teeth and she got them looking perfect in less than a year! Dr. John is amazing and the pricing is very doable. I’d recommend Pritchett to anyone needing their smile fixed!
