Signature Health, Inc. is a prominent non-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that has been serving the Northeast Ohio community since its founding in 1993 by Jonathan Lee, Ann Mason, and the late Paul Brickman. Initially focused on providing counseling services to children in local schools, Signature Health has evolved into a comprehensive integrated healthcare provider. Their mission is to make a wide range of essential healthcare services accessible to vulnerable patient populations of all ages, regardless of their ability to pay. This commitment is reflected in their acceptance of Medicaid and Medicare, as well as offering a sliding fee scale program for eligible uninsured individuals. Signature Health provides a diverse array of services, including: Mental Health: Offering counseling and psychiatry services for children and adults, including specialized trauma therapy (EMDR) and case management. Addiction Recovery: Comprehensive care for opioid, drug, alcohol, and gambling addiction, featuring Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). Primary Care: Services for patients of all ages, encompassing physicals, treatment for common illnesses and injuries, vaccinations, screenings, and management of chronic conditions. Infectious Disease Services: Including free HIV/Hepatitis C screening and care for individuals living with HIV/AIDS through the Ryan White Title A Grant. Dental Health: Comprehensive oral health care, including treatment for teeth, gums, and mouth issues (available in Painesville and other selected locations). Pharmacy: On-site pharmacies with options for pick-up, free mailing, and delivery of prescriptions. Laboratory Services: Convenient on-site blood draws and lab services for screenings. Sexual & Reproductive Health: Low-cost or no-cost education, contraception/birth control, and medical services. Signature Health operates multiple outpatient health centers across Northeast Ohio, including locations in Painesville, Ashtabula, Beachwood, Lakewood, Maple Heights, Wickliffe, and Willoughby. In addition, they manage four residential treatment facilities for mental health and substance use disorders, such as Bridgeview Manor, C.H. Everett Clinic, ORCA House, and Roberto Flores Home. Recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), Signature Health employs a team-based approach to care, ensuring coordination across various settings like hospitals and emergency departments, and facilitating referrals to specialists. They prioritize patient education and self-management, providing tools like blood pressure monitors and weight management logs. To further reduce barriers to care, they offer transportation assistance to qualifying patients and maintain walk-in hours for new patient assessments. While generally well-regarded for their comprehensive services and commitment to accessible care, patient reviews sometimes highlight challenges related to appointment scheduling, wait times, and consistency in provider experiences, particularly concerning mental health services for uninsured or Medicaid patients. Despite these concerns, many patients express appreciation for the compassionate staff and the broad range of support provided.
