Just had a filling done by dr.Luke and Dahianna and it went great. He made sure to tell me each step and check in to make sure I was doing okay throughout the process. Both were very kind and friendly!

Took me 6 months to get an appointment for myself & my daughter as new patients. . ok, understand that’s the normal these days, however, I was phoned the day prior in the morning to confirm my appointment (fyi- just mine, not my daughters), I could not answer as I was at work & can not use my phone there. . a couple hours later I received 2 messages stating my appointments were canceled due to not being confirmed. Though I understand the policy they have is they “must be confirmed”, I wasn’t even given enough time to call to do so. I called after work, of course, they were closed. I leave a message.

Next day no one bothers to reach out regarding the issue. I left my job early that day, for the appointments, I call & explain. . I am told I should have basically called them on my lunch break to confirm. I am furious! Like how would you know my schedule or when I take a break. Maybe I don’t even get one. I, clearly frustrated now, want to know when we can get in & am told we can’t be seen until December. It is February… December!! That is insane! I already waited 6 months for these.

Only other option is to be put on a wait list. I purposely, due to my work schedule, made Friday afternoon appointments & now can’t get in unless someone cancels (on a Friday afternoon) or I’ll have to wait 9 more months. Crazy!! I did not cancel. I would not recommend this office AT ALL! I can not believe you are given only a couple of hours to confirm. People do have jobs or can be busy. Maybe your policy should give your patients enough time to communicate. Terrible business!

Doctor was nice friendly staff. She took 2 teeth out which I did see the 2 teeth but she left broken teeth inside my mouth. I called and she scheduled me the next day! Friendly staff

Listen— yes, the wait time is rough. But if you don’t have insurance and need treatment, they are there to help you get that. I am in an ongoing battle with my tooth, I need a second root canal and a specialist to perform it as it is a difficult case.

When I called, they could only fit me in for their “emergency chair,” and I was so happy I got that! So yea, I waited 2 hours to be seen. But as a new patient looking for anywhere to just see my tooth and help me figure something out that wouldn’t put me in debt, I was so grateful to even be seen at all! Now, they determined they did not have the specialist I needed, but that my infection needed to get taken care of ASAP or it could require facial reconstruction! So now what? They didn’t have anyone, and I had already been to 2 other dentist offices that I couldn’t afford, so I felt defeated and beside myself. Well, the folks at Star Community Dental gave me a list of places to call that could help me, and have even followed up regularly to make sure I am getting it taken care of! Do you think the other offices (mind you, the other offices I actually WAS an established patient for years already, I just lost my insurance now) cared at all to do that for me? Nope! As soon as I broke down saying I couldn’t afford it they hung up and I never heard back.

I think the people at star actually care about helping people in need. So yes, the wait might be long, but they’re helping others in need!
