The practice has a rich history, with Dr. Daniel Paulus continuing the legacy of his father, Dr. J. Douglas Paulus, who started the practice in 1975. Dr. Daniel Paulus, a Massillon native, graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and joined his father's practice before taking over in 2017. Dr. Shaun Doherty, who joined the practice in 2004, also contributes to the clinic's comprehensive care. In March 2020, the practice moved to its current location and was renamed Stark Family Dental.
