Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with this dental office and this dentist. I have high anxiety and going to the dentist is never fun. There was a miscommunication on what I needed to have done. I was not prepared for what they had planned to do because I was under the impression that it was going to be something different. At the end of the day, it does not matter who is right, who is wrong, who knew what and who didn’t.
When someone is crying in your chair, my advice to you Doc, would be pull up a chair. Not stare at them and say “I don’t understand what is going on. ” It was an assumption that I had, that with your degrees, you could sense anxiety. You could sense fear. I was wrong.
I am sorry, what don’t you understand? As I was expressing my very real, and valid fears, to the woman, she said “yeah that’s normally the reaction we have here. ” An off the cuff remark that did not help in the moment. I apologize that I am not 3 years old but I can still have the same fears and deserve the same amount of bedside manner. Wouldn’t you agree?
