Eastman Emergency Dental Clinic is unlike anything else available. I am originally from western NY, currently in Syracuse. There are ZERO emergency dental providers in Syracuse. I was even told by a nurse over the phone that Eastman was the only true emergency dental clinic in the state. I have needed these services multiple times spanning from the early 2000s to last week.

They have always helped me or my loved ones with whatever treatment was necessary, and the care was the highest quality with no common side effects (dry socket, bone spurs etc ). Get there early. The line forms at 730 sometimes. TL;DR IF YOU HAVE TOOTH PAIN/ISSUES, GO TO Eastman Dental M-F AT 730 AM. PERIOD

I am very happy with our visit to the Urgent Care. My husband has been having excruciating tooth pain for a while, we went into the appointment knowing that he might have to have the tooth extracted. I was worried at first due to the reviews I was reading, but when we went the staff was very nice and accommodating. My husband has some disabilities, so I needed to accompany him in the appointment.

When they said he was the only one who could come back, I explained that I am his advocate, and they said it was okay for me to come in with him. The dental assistant was very nice and helped make him feel comfortable, they took x-rays and determined we would need a lot of follow up care if we wanted to save the tooth, and that it might need to be extracted anyway. We decided to have it removed, my husband was very nervous about it, but when the doctor came in, Mohommed, his main concern was his comfort. He made sure he was having 0 pain before trying to extract the tooth.

He was very polite and made sure my husband was comfortable. The extraction was very hard, but the doctor and assistant never showed any frustration and remained very professional and nice. Overall, I am blown away by the care he received.

*update** after I left my review Howitt urgent care dental responded and told me I should call there patient outreach program. I naively thought it would be to try and figure out what happened with trying to get my medicine, or maybe to try and improve their process so this doesn't happen to someone else. . . Man was I wrong. I've called twice now, about 2 hours apart. Both times an automated voice told me patient outreach was unavailable and I should leave a message.

I left voice messages both times with my name and phone number, and a brief description of why I called. I have not heard bake. In my opinion it is insanely unprofessional to give someone a number and tell them to call and it's just unavailable. So thanks. Again the dental staff themselves were great but if you need anything from the clerical/support staff GOOD LUCK! If I could leave 2 different reviews I would. The dental staff them selves were incredibly helpful and deserving of 4-5 starts. However the experience I've had trying to get antibiotics after an extraction has been almost more excruciating than the extraction.

It's been 4 days now and they still haven't sent a script to my pharmacy. I've called multiple times and have only managed to speak to an actual person once and they talked to me like I was a drug addict looking for opiates when all I want is antibiotics. They said they would send the script or have the dentist call me. That was 3 days ago and I haven't heard anything. Back from them. Make sure they send your script before you leave the building I guess.

12/13/24: Dentists in my area of Monroe County were all off work on Friday. 1 said to call the Eastman Dental Center due to my urgent need for dental care. I cracked my back tooth 😫 that afternoon. When I called them, they said there was no free parking. That was incorrect! When I walked 🚶‍♂️ into the building, I asked Francis (Mr. Frank), a lobby desk greeter, who's worked there for over 30 years, what I should do, since I parked in the paying lot. He barked out, "Pay it".

I asked him about the free parking, but he just handed me the code & said it was College Town parking. He did not explain which College Town lot or which entrance or where to go in the multi level parking garage. He was very rude & dismissive. He was nasty! Then, in Urgent Care, the dentist said they would not pull it until Monday! I could have waited ✋️ & gone to a dentist in my own town! It was upsetting. The dentist submitted a prescription for antibiotics & pain Rx but failed to tell me when & if I should take the pills 💊! I had no pain & no infection at the time! The pharmacist at Walgreens said that there were no instructions included! I came back on Monday the 16th, & a different dentist 😬 said that all they would do would be to pull out the tooth. No follow up with them. No prepping for an implant.

I'd have to go to their oral surgery department for that. They could have told me that on the 13th! The whole experience was very poor & unprofessional! The dentist gave me a choice to have them pull it out in Urgent Care, with no after plan, or go upstairs to make an appointment with Oral Surgery. I went upstairs with her referral form, which caused confusion with the appointment setter because it read that I refused care! That was not accurate. The dentist gave me a choice & I chose. I did not refuse care.
