I love the dentists here but The receptionist needs some more training and /or compassion. When dealing with people kids. I thought me not bringing my son in with a cold was doing them a favor but the turn him an away because his grandmother bought him for the next appointment. I took whatever appointment they had available and because I was there they turn him. Away

I haven't even had a chance for my child to get the procedure done and I've already made up my mind about this review. Like every other review, I can't tell you how many times I had to call to get through to make the appointment. I even had to call our referring dentist to ask for help and didn't get any. . I finally made the appointment for an eval, get there and was told it's my responsibility to call the referring dentist and have them send xrays over.

Then I was told that VCU should just take more instead of wait for the xrays we already had, and when I questioned about whether or not I'd be charged for that (because I'd read the fine print) I was given a shrug and told that that's something the front desk handles. Well, don't you think I'd like to know before I just agree to something we already had and could have easily been obtained with just a small amount of communication with the referring dentist? After doing their jobs for them, we left and haven't heard from them in six months. Half a year. I know because my same child has already gone back for another cleaning at his regular dentist. I called to check and see where we were on the wait list, no call back.

I see many people switching because of this. My dentist has since referred me elsewhere for my son's procedure. . Waiting to get it done here, he'd probably have adult teeth done before anybody picks up a phone in that place.

My granddaughter was seen back at the end of last year and was referred to the surgical part. We called every week for two months and left messages, with no call back. Started calling the regular dentist again with lack of returned phone call. Then when we finally got a human, we were told it is best to email. Emails are answered quicker than the voicemail.

So, we started emailing the surgical unit and still have not gotten any responses back. The person who did her referral to the surgical part was great with her. Now she is going to end up losing a couple of teeth at the age of four because no one knows how to return a call. Her surgery date was supposed to be set up for the end of February/first of March. Here it is the middle of March and still no phone call or email to tell us anything.

We do not have any other options to have this done with her put under, because we already tried just having her sedated at her OG dentist and it did not work, she was fighting them. If I could give negative stars on the surgical part, I definitely would.
