If I could leave a lower review - I would. We were at the Glen Allen office - where there is a shockingly rude & disrespectful staff. Mr. Pope as an employer, I would be terribly embarrassed to have any of my employees at any location speak to a patient the way that your office did. Your customers pay your salary - and if we ever encountered one of our employees speaking to a patron in such a manner - I would terminate them on the spot.
The coordination of appointments and your electronic system is a disaster - consistently sending out the wrong confirmation dates as well. We had an absolutely terrible experience. The group gives a cancelation policy that states a minimum of 2 weeks for general anesthesia, yet the appointment wasn't even made 2 weeks in advance with time for this. We were informed that we would have to reschedule due to a misunderstanding with paperwork being turned back in - although no where does it state a specific time that paperwork must be received, so long as it is prior to anesthesia being administered - which was our plan. We were notified last minute that they must have it by 4pm - although no one explained this and no where does it state this on any paperwork provided, and then we are told that the deposit will be kept and re-charged if we reschedule, all due to their offices original mistake!!! Outrageous!! We are now pending legal action and I would not take my children here if they were the last dental office in America - I am shocked by how they chose to handle this situation and treated my husband and myself - and we will be pursuing legal actions if this is not resolved in very short notice.
I have never had such a poor experience with any health or service provider. There are no words for the level of unprofessionalism that we dealt with here, I would strongly recommend taking your children elsewhere.

I began bringing my child to see Dr. Pope when she was 3. Although I did not find his demeanor or attitude pleasant to manage as a parent, I continued bringing her there for over 11 years as he seemed to have a better attitude with children and they had a decent rapport. Today I was shocked that he decided that at 14, she needs to be seen by adult dentistry services with no previous conversations, made inappropriate body-shaming remarks to her and all present (“Look, you are bigger than our chair!”), and cancelled the appointment that was scheduled for 6 months in advance. We understood that she would see him until 18, but suddenly that is not the case.
My daughter is humiliated and hurt by how she was treated and I am choosing to move our services to a completely different practice. Although Dr. Pope provides decent dentistry for small kids, he is awful to deal with and is not someone I will ever let speak to my child again.
