Hope that if you are admitted you go to one of the new ‘towers’. The care there is 1000% better than the old hospital. Heck, the ER on their busiest understaffed night is better than being admitted to the older part of the hospital. The nurses there rarely seen and forget about seeing a doctor.

Short stay unit is musty. Much like a basement. It might actually be a basement because there's no windows. Big dust collection around air vents and clinging to the ceiling. Also I informed staff there was blood on the wall in my room and they just shrugged it off. It was just a few drops. Prolly from a flick of an IV cath being removed. I was bored because I was waiting so long so I cleaned it with a cavi-wipe.

Fast forward: now I'm under the influence of the general anesthesia. I can only remember pieces. I remember nearly falling when told I was being discharged and was left alone to redress. I was being rushed out. Then the nurse who wheeled me out to my driver was told I was to get me into a red sedan and he wheeled me to a brown SUV. So under the influence I thought I was being trafficked and panicked. When I got home I noticed a cut on my posterior lingual gum tissue. I don't know how the anesthesia team cut my mouth when intubating me because I HAVE AN AIRWAY YOU HAVE DRIVE A TRUCK THROUGH.

My mouth took longer to heal than my gallbladder surgery. The CRNA I work with said that if a resident was intubating me and managed to mess up at all they should prolly find a different career. Positive: my surgery went well. Robotic laproscopic surgery is advanced and didn't expect advanced options at this hospital. My doctor was really good. But he's got his own office outside the hospital so he only uses the hospital for the OR. I just wish the whole hospital matched the quality of the doctor and surgical staff.

My husband was admitted yesterday to the cardiac floor. RN Mia gave us a warm welcome and helped my husband to relax with her kind and gentle bedside manner. All the docs who have come in to speak with us have been kind and knowledgeable.

The CRNP from the surgical group was outstanding(can’t remember her name). The room is very comfortable and he is enjoying all the meals. Thank you Wellspan York!! ♥️♥️♥️

Brought someone to the ER with excruciating pain in the abdomen (type of person who never complains)…ER staff was initially extremely helpful & quick, however, the wait to get back in a room was insane. Currently still waiting & it’s been over 2 hrs on the wait time…no reason it should be 2 hrs to be seen for pain of that extreme. Will 100% tell people to go elsewhere first.

Facility looks clean & well maintained…so they get stars for appearance & initial triage interaction.
