About
Dr. Tommy Kakouras was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. He graduated from Myers Park High School in 1992. After graduating from Emory University in Atlanta with a degree in Biology, he attended Boston University School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctorate in Medical Dentistry, Magna Cum Laude. He also earned a perfect score on the Northeast Regional Boards. Dr. Kakouras then continued his training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in a one year residency program. There, he earned a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry with an emphasis on advanced cosmetic and implant dentistry and assisted in teaching third and fourth year dental students in the clinical setting. Dr. Kakouras is licensed in Massachusetts and North Carolina. Dr. Kakouras strives to maintain the highest standard of care through continued education in dentistry and involvement in the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Association and the Charlotte Dental Society. He is also a founding member of the South Charlotte Study Club that discusses complicated dental cases and educates new dentists in the region. Dr Kakouras spends hundreds of hours each year in continuing education to be able to provide his patients with the highest possible dentistry. He is also committed to earning his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry which requires 500 additional hours of continued education training. Dr. Kakouras resides in Charlotte with his family. He is married to the love of his life and has two wonderful little boys that are his pride and joy. He enjoys traveling, sports and is an active member of his church teaching the seventh grade Sunday School class.
