About
Dr. Lauren Meek was born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA. She attended the University of Virginia where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Meek then went on to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. It is here that she met her husband, Dr. Gardner Meek. After graduation, she continued her dental education by completing a year-long residency in the Advanced Education for General Dentistry program, also at VCU. She and her husband then returned to his hometown of Elkin, NC to start their careers. Prior to joining UDA, Dr. Meek spent 7 years practicing dentistry at a community clinic in Yadkinville, NC and in private practice in Elkin, NC. She loves all aspects of dentistry, especially educating patients about their oral health and its effects on their overall health, easing dental anxieties, and helping patients achieve their dental treatment goals. In her free time, Dr. Meek enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, and spending time with her husband and son.
