About
Dr. Tripp Cobb is a native of Greensboro and a graduate of Western Guilford High School. He completed his DDS with Honors at the University of North Carolina, receiving the Alpha Omega Award for graduating first in his class. He was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society and was honored with numerous awards, including excellence in operative dentistry and periodontics. He was recognized by the Hinman dental conference in Atlanta as a Hinman Scholar. He completed his orthodontic residency at the University of North Carolina. While there, he completed a randomized clinical trial evaluating the efficiency of orthodontic archwires. The research was later published in Clinical Orthodontics and Research. After graduation, he was awarded the Shepard Award by the American Board of Orthodontics for achieving the highest score nationally on the written examination given by the Board. Dr. Cobb is also known by his nickname, Dr. Tripp Cobb. Tripp is short for "triple," since he is the "third". Around the office, many of the patients call him Dr. Tripp. He loves outdoor sports and activities of all types. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists at all levels of local, state and national membership. He believes in the importance of education and continuing education. He continues his interest in clinical efficiency and strives to use the latest and best orthodontic technology to help treatment proceed as quickly, easily and accurately as possible for all his valued patients.
