UPDATE: 3 years later and my tooth is doing great! The best dentist I have ever seen in my life is Dr. Robertson. Thanks again for all you have done for me over the years, but most of all for being honest and caring. I visited Dr. Robertson on 7/01/20. Dr. Robertson is, without a doubt: • Ethical • Professional • Compassionate • Friendly • A great dentist And he treats you like a Human being, not a dollar sign. Here's my story (sorry for length, but it's worth the read if you're looking for a great dentist!) About 3 weeks ago I broke a small part of my tooth (molar) around an old (and large) filling. I had no pain, but I was worried about it breaking further, so I quickly got an appointment with a dentist at Dental One in Frederick because that’s where I live. The Dental One experience was beyond terrible, but to keep this “short” I will just tell you about my experience with the dentist himself. The dentist came into the room after my x-ray. After introducing himself, he said, “You need a crown. ” He then poked around my tooth a little bit (maybe 10 seconds).

• There was no explanation (I had to ask why he thought I needed a crown). • There were other options given to a crown (refill or patch). Again, I had to ask if there were options. He said no because according to him, the tooth was too far gone and the filling was too large to do anything around it - such as refill or patch it. • Cost of crown ~ $2,300 with insurance covering ~ $1,800 and my out of pocket being ~ $450 So I set an appointment with Dr. Robertson to get a second opinion, but I purposely withheld the fact I visited Dental One and that dentist’s recommendation. When I was seated at Dr. Robertson’s, he talked to me. He asked me questions and we conversed about COVID and its impact on businesses in Hagerstown. After they took x-rays: • He took about two or three minutes and investigated the tooth with his tools, hand and floss. • He asked if I had any pain. Nope. • He said I have a large filling that is structurally solid and there was no other damage to the tooth and it’s not showing signs of rot – a 180deg different diagnosis than the other dentist’s.

His recommendation was to smooth the jaggedness of the tooth because it was a conservative and minimally invasive approach and he did NOT feel it necessary to crown it. • Remember, I did not tell him another dentist thought a crown was the only solution. • Dr. Robertson said IF the tooth continued to breakdown, then a crown would probably be needed. I agreed. The Bottom Line is this: These are difficult times, but especially for small businesses that have been financially devastated by the closure of the economy. Dr. Robertson proved beyond any doubt that nothing will get in the way of his professionalism and his ethics. The only way I have to truly thank him for treating me as a Human, rather than a dollar sign is to write this review and tell everyone who needs dental work to visit Antietam Valley Dental Center. Thank you Dr. Robertson.

Absolutely love Antietam Valley Dental and the staff there. Broke a molar. They got me in quickly. Dr. Robertson diagnosed that the tooth could not be saved and recommended extraction. I was given an appointment with Dr. “Bob” at the office. I was nervous since I don’t like injections and have never had a tooth pulled before. But Dr.

“Bob” made me feel very comfortable and I never felt his injections!!! He extracted my tooth. It was a difficult one to get out but he patiently worked with it and kept me comfortable with his stories. Loved talking with him and hearing some of his experiences. I was soon on my way. A very comfortable experience. And the staff was very kind. I am definitely going back. Already scheduled my cleaning.
