Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, it provides comprehensive non-clinical business support services to over 1,000 independently owned and operated dental practices across 46 states in the United States. While individual Aspen Dental practices are independently owned by licensed dentists who maintain clinical autonomy, Aspen Dental Management, Inc. handles aspects such as marketing, operations, human resources, payroll administration, real estate management, and procurement of equipment and supplies. The core mission of Aspen Dental is to break down barriers to dental care, particularly for individuals who may not have an existing relationship with a dental provider or face financial or other obstacles. They aim to make quality, affordable dental care accessible to a broader population, often situating practices in areas identified as "dental deserts" where access to dental providers is limited.
