Detailed Introduction

Centerville Clinics is a long-standing and highly regarded non-profit community-based health organization, officially designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Founded in 1955 by Joseph A. Yablonski, an International Board Member of the United Mine Workers of America, its origins trace back to a mission to provide accessible healthcare to miners and the broader community in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Initially known as the Union Miners Building, Inc., it rapidly expanded its services and locations, evolving into the comprehensive healthcare network it is today. With a network of 12 medical, 5 dental, and 10 behavioral health sites, Centerville Clinics serves Fayette, Greene, and Washington counties. They are committed to providing "total health care for the entire community," offering a vast array of services to individuals across all stages of life. Their primary care services encompass family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and podiatry. In addition to general medical care, Centerville Clinics offers extensive specialty services, including dentistry (preventative, cleaning, restoration, laboratory services), dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, industrial/occupational medicine, psychiatry, radiology, and urology. Diagnostic services such as laboratory tests, X-rays, EEG/EKG, and pulmonary function tests are also available. A significant aspect of Centerville Clinics' offerings is their robust behavioral health program, which includes outpatient mental health services, case management, telepsychiatry, partial hospitalization, and psychological evaluations. They also address specific community needs with programs like the Coal Workers and Chronic Respiratory Disease Program, demonstrating a commitment to the health challenges prevalent in their service area. As an FQHC, Centerville Clinics is dedicated to providing affordable care. They operate on a sliding fee discount program, where fees are determined by household size and income relative to federal poverty guidelines, ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible to all, regardless of their ability to pay. They process various insurance forms, including CHIPS and Medicaid, and assist patients in accessing specialty and hospital care services not directly available at their centers. Centerville Clinics is governed by a Board of Directors, with at least 51% comprised of clinic patients, reinforcing their community-centric approach. Their long history, extensive services, and commitment to accessible, high-quality care solidify their position as a vital healthcare provider in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Everything overall has been great at the clinics. From a PCP, dental, and mental health standpoint there has never been an issue getting an appointment or any problems at the office. On a few occasions the wait times were a bit much but it is a clinic and when you have specialty doctors only seeing patients certain days it’s to be expected.

Calling in refill requests for prescriptions can take a day or two but knowing that makes it easy to get it handled. Love the clinic though!

I had a scheduled physical for 8:45am. I arrived shortly after 8:20am and was taken back- I realized I left my paperwork needed on my table (I live on the street parallel to the back of the office- 1. 5 minute drive IF there’s traffic) at 8:35am I had someone getting the papers. I was kicked out of that visit by 8:40am - told I had to reschedule due to the doctor being busy.

Now I could understand had I ran past my appointment time, but it wasn’t even my scheduled time when I walked out of the office. Michelle the MA was extremely rude to me during the visit, and I overheard her badmouthing me at the nursing desk, as well as making jokes at my expense. If I could leave 0 stars, I would.

I do not recommend. Take a month to get results of heart monitor. . . I had to call them. Then ended up with a UTI and went to med express. . . then got bit by a spider. . . went back to centerville. . they prescribed meds for a tick bite. . . test came back negative for lyme.

. . then ended up with Blood in my pee and bad cramping again. . . so made another appointment with Centerville. . . they made it with the incorrect office. . . so they rescheduled the appointment. . . I get there, they just had me pee in a cup and the Doctor wouldn't even see me. . .

told me she wished I made an appointment so we could talk. . . I DID make an appointment which is why I was there. She told me if they don't call me then the results were clear. I asked her what if I'm still having these symptoms? She pretty much just shrugged her shoulders at me and said to make another appointment. . . that she probably wouldn't even see me for so. . . save your time and health. Do not go here. You are just a number to them to push through and throw meds at.
