My son had been seeing one of the new local dentists for quite a while. I was stupid not to take him somewhere else a long time ago. They were terrible with his braces, his wisdom teeth extraction was terrible, two infections and a small hole left in the gums. They never came out to talk to me about his treatment and kept telling me he had cavities. Then they would do them in fifteen minutes with no novacaine.

One of them even fell out and they didn't even notice! Then they told me he had four cavities! I looked on the website for my subdivision and asked who was good and well established, and three people said Dr. Covington was great. My son liked him and he came out to talk to me. And guess what? He didn't find any of those four cavities! I'm calling today to get myself an appointment!

My former dentist in Southfield retired, and the one replacing him encouraged additional dental work. I switched to Dr Covington, and he assured me that I didn't need the extra work at this time. He was able to replace a filling instead of doing a crown, and was able to repair a chipped tooth.

He and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, but are also very gentle and calming. I feel very fortunate to have switched to them.

Unfortunately, they don’t estimate your coverage before your visits so with 2 kids and husband, we over 8 months we kept getting things done, unknown to us we had no maximum left on insurance and now we have 2 grand owed. I thought maybe we owed a little but not that much! I wasn’t told until I called to switch offices. Never received a bill in 8 months. Just be aware that they don’t keep you in the loop, I was told when I complained about not receiving a bill, that I was supposed to check with my insurance to see where we are at. I’ve never had an office not check beforehand and let us know that we were out of benefits.

I sent Dr. Ben also an email of my concern and never heard back. I will pay because what am I going to do? But no unfortunately I would not recommend this office :( not a good experience for me. Other than that the hygienists are gentle and friendly and the office is clean.
