First of I would say - it was a pleasant experience for me. Doctor was in a special mask ( felt bad she has to be like that for hours). The doctor and her helper seemed very experienced and knowledgeable.

Office was very clean and with positive vibes. If you are someone like me who avoid dentists generally and live in this area, I would highly recommend them - especially based on my experience today!

I've been to all of 3 dentists in my lifetime, mostly because I've always been able to go to a good one and never understood some people's fear of the dentist. I get it now. The staff at the North Brunswick location are very nice but they give you way too many reminders-2 text messages and 3 phone calls with one of those phone calls being 15 minutes before your appointment. The dentist, while knowledgeable, is the bigger issue. She's very personable, but I don't like how she operates. I was deliberately given too little numbing agent while she put in 4 crowns "so I could tell if those teeth were hitting first". Even numb, you can tell when a cap is too tall and that's what the black contact paper is for! I didn't have to be put in the worst pain in my life where I couldn't distinguish anything besides pure pain for 10 minutes. 8 months later and I'm still pressure and temperature sensitive.

The straw that broke the camel's back however was when she decided she was going to charge me $2,000 more for a tooth implant than it should have cost. Apparently, THEY CAN CHOOSE HOW MUCH YOU PAY, and must've thought I wouldn't do my research. I asked how much for an implant, she says $2,200. I ask total? It'll be $2,200? She says yes. Lo and behold, when it comes time to sign paperwork, I get sent a consent form that says $2, 800 for the implant, but an additional $1,700 for the abutment (Fyi- those should only cost somewhere between 200-500) and $3,000 for the crown (the 4 crowns she did before were a total of $2,800). So the actual total I was looking at was $7,500. More than 3x what I had been assured the TOTAL amount was. I call and tell the receptionist this is not what I was told, she drops the implant total down to $2,200, so that it isn't a complete lie that the procedure would cost what I was told, because then they can say "well the implant procure *is* $2,200, it's just not the only part of the procedure".

I then ask why she is charging me over $1,000 more for the abutment and at least $1,000 more for the crown than all other online sources top ranges are stating. They tell me that if I bring in a treatment plan from somewhere else, they'll try to match it. No. I'm not price matching a dentist like they're Best Buy or Target. You don't get to put me in agonizing pain and then have over $5,000 sprung on me and keep my trust.

Me and my family have used Dr. Shah for a year and a half now. When I moved into North Bruswick, I needed to switch my dentist from where I was living. I had always had poor experiences in the past and didn’t trust a lot of dentist because of the encounters I have had in the past. Dr. Shaw put me worries to rest. She was easy-going, very friendly, and exceedingly professional.

She restored my confidence in dentist, and provided me with a healthy set of teeth. Even outside of work customer service is great. They are one of the only dentist office that calls to check on you even on days that you don’t have anything set up with them. they call just to see how you were doing. They provide reminders if you forget your appointments and they constantly follow up with every appointment. I’m really glad I chose North Brunswick medical Associates for my family’s dental care.

I called at 8:00 a. m. to get an emergency appointment for my son. They got us in at 10:00 a. m. Everyone from the receptionist, the hygienist and the doctor was super friendly and professional. The office was extremely clean.

I was very impressed. My son has a fear of dentists but Dr Shah made him feel very calm and relaxed. He needed extensive work done and she referred us to Rutgers where the treatments he needed would be a lot less expensive. I can't say enough good things about this experience. I would highly recommend going here. This will be his new place for regular checkups and cleanings.
