After moving to Charlotte in 2020 it’s been hard to find a good dentist. After a bad experience at one it took a while for me to actively look around for a new one. I’m glad I finally came across this place.

They got me in right away and addressed the issues I’ve had. Dr. Alston and all of the staff is very friendly and ensure you’re comfortable! Though I’ve been to the dentist more than I should this year (my fault) I’m glad the team here is helping me get my oral hygiene back on track!

While the office is nice, and new, and high tech, the pricing reflects a strong focus on upselling. I would recommend visiting a more established practice with a less sales driven approach. This office is close to where I live and my husband went with minimal issues, they recommended he get Invisalign his first appt. I scheduled an appointment for xrays and a cleaning. I arrived early and was seen on time, which I appreciated. They took xrays as expected.

However, by the end of the appointment, they told me I needed over $10,000 worth of dental work and declined to do a standard cleaning unless I wanted to do a deep cleaning, and paid some more. I’m not disputing all of the recommended work, but some of it (like the dental camera photos) seemed unnecessary. What really confirmed that I wouldn’t return was the way the financial estimate was presented. The front desk/financial coordinator came into the room with the hygienist still present and presented a $10,000+ treatment plan. I’ve always been used to these conversations happening in private, either after the dental staff steps out or in a separate consultation room. In addition the financial coordinator seemed nervous and unsure while explaining the estimate, which made the situation even more uncomfortable.

When you’re presenting a $10,000+ treatment plan, confidence in both tone and presence matters, she had neither. I got a second opinion the next day. That dentist confirmed the same cavity concerns, but their proposed treatment plan was about a fifth of the cost. And to be clear, this wasn’t a low income clinic, the office is a well established practice in the SouthPark/Whitehall area.

100% would recommend Genesis Family Dentistry. Incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and treated me great. They went out of the way to fit me in to their schedule to get work done before leaving for a long trip. They have a great team.

Outstanding in every way! The staff is friendly, polite, and incredibly knowledgeable, creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere. As a woman-dominated and female-run practice, it fosters an empowering and inclusive environment. The receptionist is efficient and kind, while the hygienist and dentist are both excellent—thorough, engaging, and attentive to my needs.

Their proficiency and warmth made my visit comfortable and stress-free. Highly recommend this office for anyone seeking top-notch dental care with a personal touch!
