I've been here a few times for routine cleaning and there's never a wait. The office is clean and nice for kids. There is a lot of staff. Today was the first time my kids had treatment done for cavities and everything went well. The dental assistant was amazing, personable, professional and very friendly. The doctor was wonderful very professional informative they are great with kids!

I moved to MD couple of moths ago and found this office with good reviews BUT my first experience at this office was extremely disappointed. I scheduled my two boys, 5 and 3 years old, for their yearly check up. They had a problem with me being 2 minutes late (time that I took to fill out some documents ) and they would not want to see one of my kids indicating that they have a policy that allows people being late for 10 minutes and since it has passed 12 minutes I had to reschedule. I never found a place with such an unwillingness to accommodate people specially in their first visit but I get it it’s part of their policy.

What it was even more frustrating and disappointing was the attitude and treatment we received from the assistant, it is cleared that she doesn’t like her job and even more she doesn’t like to deal with kids, the way she talks to kids is not appropriate, she could not take the X-rays of my son, she indicated he’s not bitting and I offered my help but she refused and said that they will do it next time, my son never had issues taking his X-rays before. Then she applied fluoride to my son without warning him and because of the taste my 5 year old son spit it out and she told him: “you don’t do that !!” With an upset tone. They should have assistants that understand about kids and know how to deal with them. I went to several offices in VA and all the staff was patient and sweet with kids.

On the other hand, I cannot complain about the doctor, he was very professional and show empathy with my kids he was sweet and respectful with them, which shows the type of attitude a professional working with kids should have so 5 stars for the doctor. My 3 year old son’s appointment was rescheduled to the next morning, unfortunately I was placed with the same assistant and the treatment was worst, luckily the Manager was there and I was able to talk and inform her about the treatment we received. I definitely didn’t book a follow up visit at this location and will be looking for other options.

My son had to have 2 extractions today. Dr. Joe was amazing with my son! The dental assistants were so friendly and patient with him as well. They did everything they could to make him feel comfortable and safe. This is a wonderful practice and I would recommend to anyone. Thank you Kids by the Bay!

This has been the best experience with my kids at the dentist so far! My daughter, who’s 3 years old, would kick, scream and cry while at the dentist. Today was our first visit at Kids by the Bay and it was like a completely different child in there! She sat down, let them look at her teeth and clean her teeth. She didn’t cry the entire time. My son, who is 12 years old, doesn’t like to go to the dentist because of past experiences with another dentist. He was so much more at ease here.

I’m glad I made the switch! The front staff and the team in the back were really nice and pleasant. Dr. Snipes was the cherry on top. A wonderful experience!
