Exceptional experience. Excellent front office. My hygienist, Vickey, was thorough, professional and very knowledgeable . I was impressed with the fact they had the latest equipment. Dr.Jay Shukla was Wonderful, as well. I have found my dentist office in Matthews!!

I haven't been to the dentist in 2 years and was way overdue for a cleaning. I put it off because being at the dentist not only gives me anxiety, but I also experience sensory overload every time I'm there (the sounds of the tools, the sound of my teeth being scraped, etc. ). 2 years ago, the dentist I was seeing told me that I needed 2 cavities filled. I would have been paying out of pocket to have these 2 cavities filled, because my dental insurance was maxed out due to a root canal I had that year (which my insurance didn't even cover the entire root canal, I ended up paying roughly $1,400 out of pocket). Today was my first appointment with Dr.

Jay (I believe that was how he introduced himself). The first thing he asked me was if I had any concerns with anxiety, being at the dentist, etc. He also asked if I had any concerns with moving forward with necessary procedures. I have NEVER been asked these questions by a dentist before and it made me feel like my concerns were actually being addressed/validated. He also informed me that I have ZERO cavities. I do need a deep cleaning, but I have ZERO CAVITIES.

I would have paid out of pocket to fill "cavities" I didn't even have if I had gone back to my prior dentist. I am so thankful that I found Matthews Family dentistry and can already tell that I'm going to be well taken care of. 10/10 recommend.

I recently visited Matthew’s Family dentistry, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely cared for and respected. After not seeing a dentist for five years, I was understandably nervous—but the entire team immediately put me at ease. My dentist was absolutely amazing. He was kind, attentive, and truly took the time to listen to my concerns.

His humor and warmth made the entire visit enjoyable, and I could tell he took his responsibility seriously when it came to my care. I felt like I was in excellent hands from start to finish. Lindsay was also exceptional—so friendly, compassionate, and comforting. She made me feel safe and supported throughout the visit, which is something I deeply appreciated. It’s rare to leave a dental appointment feeling this good, but Matthew’s Family Dental has changed the way I view dental care.

If you’ve had negative experiences elsewhere or feel anxious about going to the dentist, I wholeheartedly recommend this place. They’ve not only restored my trust in dental visits—they’ve made me actually look forward to going back.
