As a new patient, I was able to get an appointment very quickly, which was very impressive. When I first walked in, the office felt warm and welcoming. Then I met Sandra, who was also very warm and kind. I immediately felt comfortable. The dental assistant, Candy, was very knowledgeable and so sweet.

Dr. Merrell answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease immediately. I was then able to get my next appointment quickly which was wonderful. When I left the office after my appointment, I was so happy because I knew I'd found the dentist that I was looking for.

I do NOT recommend this office. My husband went in for a routine checkup and cleaning. Dr. Merrell told him he needed a crown on a tooth that was not giving my husband any issues, but we trusted his expertise. Our insurance plan covers 50%. We paid the first 1/2 ($750) and my husband had the crown work done.

However, our claim was kicked back by the insurance company, because it didn’t meet the percentage required for a crown. When we tried to negotiate an amount with Merrell, they refused and then added an additional $161 to our bill and sent it to collections. We were forced to pay an additional $911!!! Also, my husband has sensitivity issues with that tooth now!! Lesson learned to not agree to the work unless it is pre approved by the insurance company. However, we trusted the expert opinion of Dr Merrell and then they would not even work with us when it was not our fault that we trusted him.

Trust is always a two way street. You do your job( regular brushing and flossing) and Dr Merrill does his( accurate, compassionate care). In spite of our best efforts, stuff happens for numbers of reasons. Teeth crack, cavities can creep into that spot you don’t brush, bacteria can cause nerve pain because maybe you only floss occasionally.

My point is Dr Merrill has proven to me over the last decade that he cares for my dental health. The results are that after several crowns( because I grind while I sleep and teeth cracked), only a few cavities, and one implant, that at age 72, I still have a complete set of healthy teeth and the collateral benefit is that my overall health is better because of it. Dr Merrill and his staff have proven to be one of the key members of my medical team and a verified reason that I will be around a good bit longer.
