I haven't been to the dentist in ages, and found Modern Dental through my insurance provider. I had a toothache, and was very anxious and scared of what might have to be done. The hygienist Amy was super nice, knowledgeable and understanding and took great care in putting me at ease. After the x-rays and cleaning, she put me at further ease telling me my issues were not as serious as I feared, and overall my teeth looked good. She also took her time explaining and demonstrating better ways to care for my teeth.

Dr Shepard then did the same and explained that the couple of cavities I had will be a relatively straightforward procedure at a later date. I cannot relay how much better this experience made me feel, and put me at ease with future visits. Oh, and Yaz who works at the front desk and helped me make the the appointment was extremely helpful and nice. I cannot recommend Modern Dental enough. Thank you all so much!

I had to have a crown replaced. My temporary crowns always come off and I have to go back in to get them reinstalled. This is the first crown that I have had to have with Dr. Shepherd, and the temporary stayed on the entire two weeks with no issues. The permanent one was put in today with no issues. I highly recommend Modern Dental of Durham!
