Place is nice and professional. However my dentist closed and they called me to say that a Dr. at Pearl dental bought his practice and if I wanted to transfer I could as they accepted my insurance. Called made an appointment, was seen, sat out front for 45 mins, asked again when I made appointment if they accepted my insurance, was told yes and they asked me all the pertinent details about my insurance and whose name the coverage was under. Was also told payment would be due after treatment, in FULL immediately. They run the details of said insurance and bring me a paper for 2 fillings for $402 - I said wow that’s high compared to last time, they say oh it’s probably because this is a level 3. I think inflation and say well I’m here I sign something saying I’ll pay the $402. Which i did. Month later I get a call, not a bill, from the office. I owe another $296.

00 out of pocket. However I’m confused as they told me full payment was due at time of service. These are regular cavities, I’m shocked by the price, was told that’s how much they cost, doing the math, she says your insurance covered $194. 00, so that means I am personally responsible for $698. 00 the shock has me tell her I’ll call back. Cause $700 is a lot for 2 fillings, I feel positive it’s a mistake on their end. Call back, and a very nice lady who endured my panic, investigates and finally sees that the insurance I have is out of network. Something no one told me. They said, yes we accept your insurance. With a dentist every couple of blocks in this city, why would I ever choose to pay double one place when I can get the work done for an affordable amount and have my insurance taken.

I’m not getting cosmetic work, I pay weekly for insurance through my job and it’s to use, not so I can let others charge me more, or so I can go out of network and cost myself more money. No one would do that, pay double for a service when they asked up front if insurance was accepted there. A yes, but it’s out of network would be all that is needed for me to say no thank you. Also calling for Payment before a bill was ever mailed is wild. How should I be expected to pay full price for fillings after I asked if my insurance was accepted. The first woman missing this key detail, should own the mistake and say, well we got $402 and we will waive the $296 however moving forward we can not accept your insurance. I cancelled the rest of my families appointments, as I afford to spend that much when there are plenty that accept my insurance.

Professional friendly staff clean quiet atmosphere. This was my first office visit from recent retired Dentist Dr. Christopher Williams.

I am so glad his office referred me here It's not easy to find a dentist provider that accept your insurance plan these days plus provide quality care without trying to sale you things you just don't need. My teeth cleaning experience was Excellent didn't hurt at all! Hygienist/Judy did a Great job ! If you are looking for a dental provider check out PEARL DENTAL on BARDSTOWN RD LOUISVILLE KY located behind Krispy Kreme Donuts in the Gardner Lane Shopping Center. Thanks

If I could give zero stars I would. Very unprofessional and the prices are sketchy. I went in to have a tooth extracted, they insisted I payed up front before the surgery. I went ahead and paid over 200 thats WITH insurance. When I get back the doctor is trying to convince me to get a root canal instead and bringing me all these numbers when I had already scheduled for extraction. When I refused a dental assistant then came back and told me they couldn’t do it today because they had plumbers coming and the water was being turned off. Like what?!…I had an infected tooth in my mouth that could make me sick or worse.

I was livid because I need the tooth out and we had taken off just to have it done as scheduled. So I tell the doctor and secretary they need to figure something out. She kept saying she wasn’t comfortable then finally decides to go ahead. But that time they take my blood pressure and it’s high. (No kidding) lol then decides not to do it again. It was a circus! So I left with the infection I still had for over a week, unable to bite down and already paid them over 200 that they said will be on my account when I come back. Why would I come back??? Fast forward trying to get my money back they wouldn’t release it until they got an insurance payment from the initial assessment.

No owed money from me, but the open bill from the insurance. I had to call my insurance company and let them know and finally got my refund 2 weeks later. I ended up going to a another dentist that was great! and got me in and the tooth pulled so quickly with no issues. I paid after the surgery and guess what it was only 60 bucks with my insurance. Pearl dentist is giving scam.

The staff is top notch. This was my first appointment since my dentist retired and I was a little nervous. They made me feel comfortable within minutes of sitting in the dental chair. Very thorough cleaning and explanation of a plan to keep my teeth in the best shape possible. Thank You and Happy KY Derby Week, Michelle
