I was being seen by Night and Day dental prior to the office changing hands. The staff is still the same but suddenly they stopped taking my insurance with no prior notice. I was in the middle of a treatment plan. The dentist had messed up my front tooth crown and it was badly discolored. I was told I had to wait a year almost to have a deep cleaning approved by my insurance so I reluctantly waited.
Then it was denied and I was never informed by the office. I had to wait and see it 3 months later on my EOB. I called the office and they had “changed hands”. I was then informed they were not going to replace my front tooth as previously promised at no charge because I waited a year. I was told I had to.
The office then told me I could find a new office that took my insurance and get it done somewhere else. I am still paying on the first tooth that was messed up. I am disabled and I can’t just afford these errors. Do not get yourself in any situations with this office they do not stand by their word and correct their errors.

Here are the details of my experience at this location and my opinion. It’s unfortunate when you are treated more like a dollar sign than a patient. I was with Night and Day dental in Matthews when they first opened their location there and always had good service for me and my kids. I almost low key felt like I was being discriminated against by this location for having Medicaid. I’m currently in between work and this is what I have. . I was told by night and day this joined partnership location (Riccobene) accepted my insurance so I came here. I visited this office 8 days ago for some preventive care. During my visit I was seen and x-rays were taken, and I was provided a treatment plan.
The treatment plan seemed very one sided with no options for my insurance to cover what they recommended( it’s a lot to detail in this post). It’s just all seemed so shady. At one point, when I said I can’t afford that what other option do we have to at least fix the priority tooth which has a cavity. I was provided an option to fix the priority issue tooth but they kept talking it down because that was of course the option my insurance would cover and they would make less $$. I was offered to speak with the payment plan coordinator or come back when I get a job with better insurance. Just all around the board absurd for a medical establishment. Anyway, Ok so be it. However, my deep cleaning was covered and I was told that my insurance company would need to be contacted, and then once they have validated that the insurance will pay for what needs to be done I will get a phone call back and they will schedule. Today, eight days later, I followed up to see if I can make my appointment to get this done.
I was told that my insurance is no longer accepted with their facility and that I would have to call another dental clinic to get my work taken care of and my medical records transferred. This is strange to me because they have an end date for this to happen which is March 14th and today is 2/27, and I started being a patient with them last week. Why they would not accommodate a patient they have started with is beyond me and when were they planning on notifying me. I guess their money made for my X-rays is good but to finish a cleaning for a patient that started with them is no longer worth it. Bet if I called and asked to get the $6,000 worth of out of pocket work completed with them they would be happy to schedule an appointment. I plan to file a grievance with my insurance and locate another dentist to get my work completed. My son who is now adult with his own insurance wanted to make an appointment and says he can’t ever get through to the office. I recommended he doesn’t bother, the energy is not the same.

Dr. Chen, I hope I got the name right. She was wonderful and saved a tooth that all the oral surgeons was saying needed to come out. She was very patient with me taking the time to make sure I understood what was happening. I would recommend her and the dental clinic to my friends and family.

Rebecca, the hygienist at the Concord location did an amazing job polishing & cleaning my teeth! She was so strategic at getting all the stains and build up from underneath the gums and the surface! I highly recommend!! 10 out of 10! Thank you so much! This office is amazing!
