I took my kids to Dr. Jay since the time they were able to go to the dentist. I trusted his words and everything he said to us. I have three kids, two older girls, and a smaller boy. My girls were fine with the dentist. My son was scared of the dentist when they had to give my son medicine for the anesthesia. My son was giving a very hard time because he was scared.

I walked in to two of the assistance holding my son down while they were trying to pour this medicine down his throat I immediately stopped them and handle the situation myself. I thought that was a poor way to handle the situation with a child who’s scared to death at the dentist anyways long story short, they end up telling me The girls are too old to continue to go there so they need to go to a regular dentist now which I didn’t understand because I seen kids the same age as them continue to go there after they stopped but anyways, so we bring them to another dentist. Another dentist says they have so much wrong with their teeth. It’s been going on for years. It looks like and it’s a lot of money to fix. I couldn’t believe the dentist. I thought they were just saying it so I go and go to a different dentist.

This dentist is the same exact thing. As I thought, Dr. Jay was taking care of my children’s teeth all these years, he was not he was letting them go bad wasn’t letting us know all their cavities. I’m really disappointed. I took my son out immediately also and he has a lot of things wrong with his teeth too, but this just tells you when you have Medicaid sometimes doctors and dentist just tell you whatever they’re gonna get paid either way.

We’ve known Dr J for many years now I can say with cleaning and easy things this office is good With fillings and decay they are horrible They bring you in for crowns for kids They go in and they end up with extractions And they still manage to charge you for crowns They bring the tooth 🦷 out In a nice box and tell you the tooth is to far gone When you try to ask a question they tell you the doctor is super busy and you have to wait for two hours to get an answer The kind of behavior makes you suspicious even more , and this is not the first time . This tooth isn’t too far gone nor needed extraction by any means even by a second opinion consultation Pics included You wonder if they have a plan from the Beginning to do the extraction and save time The material and blame it on the tooth and patient Classic one in the medical business And then hide behind how busy is the doc . Just be careful with this practice Have everything is writing before and after Their word means absolutely nothing . I call this lack of professionalism.

Bottom line the dentist is so slammed he is rushing things and going with the easy less time consuming option which will leave the child with big consequences in the development of the jaw bone later in life . Just be careful with your kids and protect them with all you can I had a second opinion and the dentist said this tooth 🦷 is viable and easy to fix . I filed a complaint with the SC board of dentistry and still waiting for the outcome of the investigation. I encourage every parent who faces a problem like this or had a problem like this to pursue a second opinion Follow through with the board of dentistry in the state of SC .

Protect and advocate for your children with any legal means possible from such practices.

My daughter had her very first ever oral sedation and procedure done here today, everything was very smooth and easy from the start. And my daughter seems to really like Dr. J also.
