Rural Health Group, Inc. (RHG) is a well-established non-profit organization that has been providing essential healthcare services since its founding in 1974. It operates as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), signifying its commitment to serving medically underserved areas and populations. RHG's mission is to offer excellent quality primary care and health education to every individual in its community, delivered in a culturally sensitive, professional, and compassionate manner, with a special emphasis on reaching the underserved. RHG has grown significantly since its inception, expanding from a community collaboration to provide low-cost healthcare into a network of clinics. It currently operates numerous locations across Northeastern North Carolina, including Enfield, Jackson, Lake Gaston (Littleton), Henderson, Norlina, Rich Square, RHG at HRMC (Roanoke Rapids), Roanoke Rapids Family Practice, Roanoke Rapids Pediatrics, Scotland Neck, Twin County (Hollister), and Whitakers, as well as a School Based Health Center program. This widespread presence underscores its dedication to improving healthcare access in rural areas. As a "safety net clinic," RHG plays a crucial role for the uninsured and low-income populations in the region. A cornerstone of its philosophy is that no one is ever refused service due to inability to pay, with services offered on a sliding fee scale based on income and family size for those with annual household incomes at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Over 30,000 people have received care at Rural Health Group, Inc. The range of services provided by Rural Health Group is comprehensive, encompassing primary medical care, dental care (general dentistry for all ages), and behavioral health services. Their team of providers includes Family Physicians, Internists, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, OB/GYNs, Certified Nurse Midwives, Pediatricians, Dentists, Clinical Pharmacists, Psychologists, and Licensed Clinical Social Workers. Beyond direct patient care, RHG also emphasizes health education, nutrition, WIC services, and case management, aiming for a holistic approach to community well-being. They also offer various testing and prevention services, including HIV, viral hepatitis, and STDs, and participate in programs like the Patient Centered Medical Home model.
