Moved to the area so needed to find a new dentist. Went in for my cleaning, which was good, but was told I needed to come back to get 4 cavities filled. Mind you I’ve never had this many cavities pop up at once so I was thrown off by what they found. I asked them to show me the x-rays and explain where they were, which they did, but rephrased it to say they needed to re-do existing fillings. Fast forward to the following week, I went to get the first two redone.

I spent 2. 5 hrs in the chair bc the dentist was hoping from one patient to the next. I waited 45 min after getting numbed for the dentist to actual start. The same thing happened to me the next time I went in to have the other two fillings redone. Almost 3 hours in the office bc there was only one dentist in the office.

To make matters worse, I’ve reached out to the office 2x, leaving messages, to try to get an appointment to address pain in all the areas that they worked on and have not heard back. It’s been 3 weeks now without a call back. Needless to say, I don’t recommend this practice. I wish I would have listened to my gut instinct and questioned their “findings” more.

I’ve been going to SHD for over 10 years. However, ever since Dr. Bonomo left/retired the place has gone downhill. They have had a high turnover with dentists and hygienists ( a mass exodus).

Recently, there’s always an extra charge for services that I was not informed of until my next visit. They take xrays every 6 months, which seems excessive and the last and final time I went, the hygienist was a temp from an agency that had never been there before and neglected to polish my teeth and give me the usual fluoride treatment.

I have been coming to SHD for years. Recently I was told I owed over $100 for a cleaning bc my insurance was no longer accepted and SHD is considered out of network. No notice of any form was ever provided to me about no longer taking United. I’ve called the billing office multiple times to discuss and have not even gotten a call back.

I recently had an unfortunate experience with Society Hill Dentist while attempting to pick up my mouthguard, which I had purchased several months ago. Here’s a detailed account of the issues I encountered: 1. Mouthguard Retrieval Issues: The office staff was unable to locate my mouthguard despite multiple attempts. It was eventually found, but only after realizing it was in an old system, which caused unnecessary delays (two + months for me to retrieve it) 2. Unjust Payment Demands: When I came to pick up the mouthguard, I was directed to the front office and informed that I needed to pay a missed appointment penalty before I could receive my mouthguard, which was already fully paid for. The staff insisted that I could not have my mouthguard until this penalty was settled. 3.

Lack of Documentation: The office was unable to provide any documentation proving they had the legal right to withhold a paid for product. They attempted to enforce a penalty fee that was recently introduced, but I had not been provided with or signed any agreement regarding this new policy. In fact, I had signed a different policy in 2024, which stated the penalty was 50% less. 4. Unethical Practices: I informed the staff that withholding a paid product was illegal, yet they continued to make me wait for an additional 45 minutes before finally releasing my mouthguard. This delay was unreasonable and highlighted their unfair business practices. 5.

Decline in Quality: Overall, the quality of service at Society Hill Dentist has significantly declined since new ownership took over the practice. This recent incident was not only unethical but also potentially illegal, as withholding a paid product can be considered a violation of consumer protection laws. In conclusion, my experience with Society Hill Dentist was extremely disappointing. The staff's insistence on withholding my paid mouthguard and the overall decline in service quality under new ownership have left me questioning their ethical standards and business practices. I hope this review serves as a caution to others considering this practice for their dental needs.
