About
Dr. Brittany Lawson received her undergraduate B.S. degree in Exercise Science from Rutgers University in 2010. After spending a year working for an animal hospital and coaching a competitive girl's soccer team, she went on to continue her education and obtain her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from Rutgers University in 2015. During her tenure at dental school, her role as a student leader in the start of an inter-professional education family practice program allowed medical and dental students to educate one another on various clinical cases. These clinical cases allowed cross training of fellow professionals and screening within the community of Newark, NJ. She was also an active member of Rutger's Gamma Pi Delta Honor Society, the American Association of Women Dentists and participated in Give Kids a Smile. During her senior year she was presented with the Brian D.Stone Memorial Award, which recognizes dental students committed to volunteering and helping those with special needs. She then went on to complete her General Practice Residency training at East Carolina School of Dental Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina in 2016. During her residency program, Dr. Lawson was involved in various community outreach programs including: Gives Kids a Smile, Colgate dental screening bus, Baptist mission buses and community oral cancer screenings.
