About
Dr. Randy Kovicak is a general dentist with more than 20 years of experience treating patients. He attended Michigan State University and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Dentistry in 1999. He then began practicing in the Lansing and Detroit areas until purchasing his own practice in Muskegon, Michigan in 2002. For nearly 17 years, he owned and operated his own family oriented private practice, providing comprehensive care that included most all areas of general dentistry. Dr Kovicak has been in Raleigh, North Carolina since the summer of 2018 where he is continuing to find new things every day to love about "The Tarheel State.`` Dr. Kovicak has also been involved in organized Dentistry by way of serving on various local and state boards over the years. He works to be very involved in his community and enjoys giving back whenever possible through service to patients in need. After going on a three-week dental mission to Cameroon, Africa in 2001, he felt a strong desire to find additional ways to help those in need and consequentially helped in forming Volunteer for Dental, an organization that provided care to the underserved in the state of Michigan. He is always looking for new ways to improve dentistry and was even an advisory board member for Garrison Dental Solutions, a company in Michigan that develops cutting edge dental products. Dr. Kovicak loves new technology and is certified in digital dentistry for making same day crowns and is a skilled Invisalign provider. Dr. Kovicak enjoys a very full life outside of his efforts as a dentist. He has two beautiful children, aged 11 and 9 with his wife, Heather. He is very involved in the extracurricular activities that his children participate in and often spends most of his spare time running them to piano practice or coaching baseball and softball teams. He has many interests of his own in life including reading, writing, playing guitar and, most all, sports. His favorite team is Michigan State (sorry Duke fans) and he was actually a Division I wrestler for them back in college. He has also recently achieved his personal goal of writing and publishing a novel. Dr. Kovicak is a wonderful practitioner with a heart focused on family and service.
